@SolidGame_basic:

Hell no! 99% of all games on phones / tablets are full of iap and pay to win microtransaction bull shit. The only games I play on my phone are old ports and rogue-likes from devs who made them to make a game, not to get rich. Or the spiderweb software rpgs which I am sure most people gamers or otherwise don't even know exist.

So if they bring out some sort of attachment with buttons I might consider it. Otherwise, no. I have GTA SA on my phone, and I hardly touch it, because as good a game as it still is, the touch screen is offputting. So put Mario 3 on my phone and the touch screen makes most of the levels a nightmare.

Makes me sad gta sand adreas or vice city were neve ported to the vita... would of worked and played great. I am sure all sony would of had to do is through a few bones their way and it would of happened.

@Midnightshade29: Same here, they would have been perfect for it.

No, I would not. I'd like a Nintendo console to play my Nintendo games on.

Dunno about handhelds, but would love if they release a Mario collection on steam.

Well I don't play games on my phone tbh. If they did put out something really great then I guess I'd give it a go.

Punch out

Yeah Punch Out! would work well. I would buy that for sure. Most other games/genres would be a nightmare though on touch screens.

Punch Out requires more timing and precision than most platformers.

Timing yes, precision no. Mac always snaps back to the same position on the screen after you punch, duck, mover left or right. and since there are only 2 punches and 4 distinct directions to move, I think touch controls could handle this. There is no precision platforming, no running or jumping etc. like there is in Mario titles. Timing is HUGE in Punch Out! but the simple control scheme would allow it to be played on touch screens imo. I guess we will see if Nintendo agrees or not.

No, mobile games will always be cash grabs and Nintendo is no exception if they want to be successful

I'm in the same boat with everyone else. I'm not really tempted to buy or even really download any of these games. I had the sonic game for my phone and then proceeded to bored of it with in minutes. And if Nintendo does what I think it may to and I see it coming very slowly thanks to Mario Kart 8 finally getting some DLC. Granted that DLC was actually pretty good but still. I see Nintendo doing a f2p version of all of our favorite game. Espically Mario, Link, and MK series. So yeah this will probably get a big pass by me.

Glad you see it. Actually I want to make a game like this for IOS/Android devices but not getting enough time now-a-days. :(

I would, definitely. But the old, classic games like Mario or Metroid or Zelda. I'd even play Sonic or Pacman; they're Nintendo's now, after all. Yes, I know there are emulators, but they suck. The controls are clunky, there are glitchea, there are so many steps to set them up, and the apps are not user friendly. I'd rather pay for a clean, perfect port to a phone.

Whatever gaming applies to a smartphone also applies to tablets. I would love to see Virtual console for Android.

No. It will probably be small and lame versions of games that are good. And I don't own a good smartphone, since I don't find a reason to. I say **** phone games as long as handhelds exist.

1. Don't even own a smartphone.

2. Can't even bring myself to play games on a proper handheld, so probably not.

Same.

3DS tends to just be a system I'll use around the home. However, I recently hooked up a dualshock3 to the ipad and it is a blast. The ipad is already something that is with me 90 percent of the time--it is like shrinking the 90s into your bag and bringing it with you.
