Poll Would you buy No Man's Sky if it were dropped to $20? (87 votes)
Well? Price is the only thing holding me back regardless of the shit storm that is No Man's Sky, it should have been that cost from the onset, is that what's holding you back?

Honestly? Probably not. I have a lot on my plate that I'm actually having fun playing, and a lot coming out that I'll be spending time with (Pokemon Sun, Final Fantasy XV, and The Last Guardian in this year.)
I would like to play it someday still, but now that I've waited this long I probably would see the price, consider it, then sigh as I put the game back on the shelf at Target (or remove it from my PSN cart.)
I'd not play it if it was free on psn.
I got it for free on GOG.
It definitely feel like its missing something, like it was severely cut back to meet release.
If they were smart, they would sought more funding and increased the development staff.
It was just too ambitious for such a small crew to complete.
I would have paid that before release, but now that I know what a shit game it apparently is, I'll wait for the $5 Steam sale.
I would have bought it for 20. And looking at the footage that seems a more appropriate price. After what I heard people say about it, I'm not sure that I'd even pay 20 for it now. It just doesn't seem like a very good game and the novelty of it kind of wore off without even playing it myself XD
I don't think I'd buy it for any price at the moment. Because I have a lot of other games I want to play first in the upcoming weeks. So it will likely be delayed to infinity.
(BF1, Civ6, Overwatch, NES mini with Castlevania Zelda II Punchout Kirby and original Mario games (never played those), SOMA, Replica, Kentucky Route Zero).
No. There are too many open-ended/procedurally-generated/space exploration/mining/crafting/whatever you want to call it games on PC that look of higher quality than No Man's Sky.
I was rather disturbed watching gameplay videos of No Man's Sky after it came out. Mine mine mine, fly to next planet, mine mine mine, fly to next planet, continue for a long ass time until you reach the joke of an "ending".
I don't think I'd want to risk time trying to find if there's more to that game than that. Not when considering how much time some people have actually put in the game.
When I get a PS4 in 5ish years it'll be on my list of games to check out, I'm hoping I can get it for $10 by then though
I say yes. I was one of the people that was a Day One adopter on PC, and honestly? It was the first and only game I've used Steam's new refund system for.
I think the game has / had potential, but I couldn't justify paying for what little "gameplay" there was at $60. Shit, Flower and Journey were much better experiences at a fraction of the price. If Hello games had released a game with all the features they talked about, then it TOTALLY would've been worth full retail price. Instead what we got is a game that felt ambitious, yet uninspired. Expansive, yet incomplete. "
I said in my refund request that I would repurchase the game when the content of the game was increased, the price was reduced, or both. That still holds true. Either way, I would've buy it now because I have WAAAAAY too much shit to play.
No, because there are probably other games i'd prefer to play that costs $20 and are deserving of my time/money.
@n64dd: This game in 5-8 years will be considered a classic a masterpiece. You people can't see it's genius"
Thread bookmarked. This game will be remembered for a long time alright.
I'm Canadian, I already have to do that . Our leader is so far to the left he makes Bernie Sanders seem conservative
I'd not play it if it was free on psn.
this.
i called this flop for 2 years and everyone called me crazy.
the games is a fraud, a lie, and a scam
@n64dd: I say it constantly, entertainment is subjective. Glad you're enjoying it.
lol I'm half being serious.
My experience with No Man's sky honestly was a good one. I also did no pay attention to the development behind it, and all the content that was promised. I just saw a few videos on it and it looked like a nice concept with an indie group. I go back and mess around in it from time to time.
I honestly think it's this gens spore. Fun to mess around in, but failed execution on the full concept.
If they hadn't done the old bait and switch people wouldn't be nearly as harsh in my opinion. Because I largely missed the hype on this one (I often do) and I enjoyed the game more than many others did. It wasn't worth the full price but, I've played much worse for that cost believe me.
Worth 20 dollars? I think maybe so. Depending on your enjoyment of this type of game sure. It's stylish, it has a certain addictive quality while you are building your ship up, but it lacks depth.
You might want to read the latest Sony PR spin on this game and wait until it's FREE, that way you may not feel totally ripped off on the price :P
Sony PR spin
I was never interested and the post launch criticism only makes me want to try it less. There are too many good games to waste time supporting a game where the developer lied to this degree.
If I hadn't bought it and come to hate it as I already have, I'd probably pay $20 for it, just to see how bad it was. $20 is the price it always should have been anyways.
