Would you buy the 3DS for $299?

What if the 3DS North American price is actually $299. Would you still buy it?

I'd buy it even if it was $499. Plus another one to use as a teddy bear, and a third one to grind down into a fine powder and sprinkle on my breakfast cereal each morning. Then probably a fourth one, as a paperweight to hold down my DSi in case it gets angry at being neglected and tries to bite my nose off. "Don't worry DSi. I'll still use you for listening to music. it is overpriced for whats inside, but the games will be awesome, so yeah i would.

LOL that is cruel :P. Don't expect it to be as low as $200. I am guessing $250, which would be spot on with past Japanes to NA prices.

$200 is the wife's limit for any handheld. Even my previous-gen 8gb iPod Touch cost $189 when I bought it. The same goes for my PSP1000 when I finally bought one. It'll be a long wait then for 3DS.

No, i'll probably get an XL tho for its bigger screen. going to trade in my useless DS Lite soon. hopefully i'll get some decent price on it

Oh man I know they wont do this at launch, but they should have a OoT launch model that is dark forest green. I would buy that so fast :).

well aren't you a friendly and respectful fellow. What does the current cost of Reach have to do with anything? it certainly didn't cost that little on launch day anywhere near my house.

I managed my money fine in order to buy Reach. I've been doing so for years now in order to fund my gaming collection, which i value quite highly thank you very much.

Lol I am assuming it would be 50 more or something. Well whatever. $300 is pushing it, but I would probably still buy it at launch. $250 is a no brainer (its going to be $250), and anythign less would be smart on their part. I think they should launch it at $229.99 or $219.99.

Expect a pack-in, but not those. More like on the level of Pilotwings Resort. The idea is to showcase the capabillities of the system, but with something more substantial than a demo, just like Wii Sports.

Those games are there to makes us go eff it, I'm buying it even at that pricepoint. They're not there as a free gift.

Yes; it was 60. So again, what does it being 30 today matter? The legendary edition for reach is great. The statue is a great addition and the collectors edition contents that are included are fantastic for halo fans.

Legendary edition is expensive. That was my point. I was willing to spend that kind of money to get all that halo related stuff, so you'd best be sure i'd drop 2x's that to get the successor to my favourite handheld without too much crying.

Heck yeah I would. I want that thing badly. I won't like paying 300 for it, but I'd still buy it for sure. Ideally I'd like to pay 200-220.

Because the line between handheld and console gaming is getting blurred. You measure games in terms of gameplay and content, not by screen size.

"for a handheld" was used in a negative sense, because, GAMEPLAY wise, they where always one generation behind, handheld gaming has catched up now.
