Would you consider GTA 3 the least favorite of the series?

As others have mentioned that would be GTA4 (for some reason), I happen to have loved that game so I don't really get it.

I never understood why GTA 4 is called GTA4 was not it GTA6? GTA4 was vice city and 5 was san andreas. and im pretty sure both are not stand alone expansions but full fledge sequels.

rockstar failed at numbering thier franchise.

My best guess is that they consider Vice City and San Andreas under the same "GTA 3 Umbrella" and that GTA 4 was such a departure for them that they decided to number it.

Kinda like Ubisoft with AC2/Brotherhood/Revelations although those games featured the same historical protagonist.

AC brotherhood and revelation are expansion pack. not full fledge games but then they keep rehashing it.

Yeeeeeah.....I wouldn’t qualify GTA as the black sheep of the franchise. That’s like saying Super Mario Brothers is the black sheep.

Were you around when GTA 3 dropped? That shit was EVERYWHERE. It was a cultural phenomenon.

I think black sheep was the wrong term I used more of being the least favorite compared to Vice City and San Andreas by gamers. GTA 3 actually got me back into gaming more then ever before back in 2001 it helped me get through some bad times.

I happen to like both but I can see your point in them not matching AC2 in terms of quality.

Me too man the soundtrack, gameplay, satire, and story are all phenomenal. I think alot of people hated it because the car handled was more realistically and alot of gamers didn't like it for me it was no big deal. Also one of GTA IV's biggest flaws is its lack of variety especially compare to San Andreas. GTA IV is a amazing game and in alot of ways ahead of it's time due to it's new physics engine euphoria it made combat so much fun it's a shame they toned it down for V.

Same here. Loved GTA IV, the setting, the story, almost everything. I think people should actually compare GTA IV with GTA 3, rather than with San Andreas.

Also liked the protagonist. Niko was great. Although, being a Croatian, they completely screwed-up with Serbian in the game and his last name.

Double "L" in Bellic is non-existant in the Balkans. His actual surname would be Belić.

They should have hired a native speaker rather than an American portraying an accent.

Every GTA game suck so every game is blacksheep to me.

Mafia is better, more mature.

You literally put zero thought into anything you post, troll constantly, and then call the mods when you get called out for it. But you want a debate. Just sad.

@IgGy621985: @warmblur: You both make good points, I enjoyed the setting/story/characters as well. The most prominent complain I kept seeing back then was that the map was smaller than SA :/
