No, but if they did charge I would expect dedicated servers at least. For a game with so many players they can't be cheap, so it would be like paying monthly MMO fee.

I don't think there will be a fee just for online play, but I'm sure there will be a monthly fee to acquire guns, maps, etc. It really isn't much more of a ripoff than what they are already doing, and I fully expect people to continue to buy it. I really can't believe they are still retailing it for just $60. The way it sells, I think $70-80 would be more profitable.PurpleMan5000
it's safer for them to nickel and dime gamers with micro transactions

Didn't like, the head of Activision say they would never change for COD multiplayer?

I wouldn't count on that.

I'm not sure what the premium content will entail, but Kotick did say that everything available in the current Call of Duty games will be available without requiring the premium subscription.

I wouldn't even buy a Call of Duty game in the first place, much less pay for online play or a set of maps. Makes me sick even thinking about it.

I'm sure there will always be a free version of COD multiplayer that will serve as a demo for the full version that costs money to play. Bobby Kotick wants to charge for cutscenes in Starcraft games. Do you really think he's going to pass on an opportunity to milk the COD fanbase?

im assuming the subscription would get you the map packs and whatever other upgrades which is absolutely stir crazy since they usually only come out with 3 or so MP's a year easily overpricing the cost of a subscription if its 5 bucks a month. i dont play the MP enough anymore to warrant paying a sub fee......nor would i have paid a fee back when i was playing it enough. hell no....if this is true then B.O. will be my last COD game since the SP portion of the game itself isnt long or good enough to warrant a 60dollar price tag. i would just move on to battlefield, totally. also my prediction for that insanity would be that the COD players would be DRASTICTLY cut unless it was some portion of the online that was pay to play and some portioins that were free. i hope for their sake that they dont plan on alienating the little guy.

I haven't even played a CoD game online since World at War (still have yet to even play Black Ops singleplayer). There's no way in hell I'd pay for the privilege to play CoD online.

I may :D

I'm a fan of the MP. If they can offer free maps, free content, and if MW2 builds around bigger features then why not? All depends on what they do with MW3
