Would you pay for XBL Gold if online play was already included in XBL Silver.
Why or why not?

I don't think anybody would. The one feature people always tout is Cross Game Chat. You know what my biggest complaint about xbox live is? CROSS GAME CHAT!! I was off of xbox Live for a good year, and when I signed up again not too long ago, it seems about 90% of people with mics are in this cross game chat feature---------mics are for game communication, imo at least.
I don't think I'm going to be paying for gold much longer either way. Microsoft is a bunch of dicks.
[QUOTE="ohthemanatee"]nope. The only way i'd pay for it would be if they gave you a lot more deals on deal of the weekBooo-UrnsWow the biggest lem in the world wouln't pay for XBL gold?. Biggest lemming in the world manatee? *coughs*

really? i'm the biggest lem in the world?
I guess that's what you get called when you start telling some inconvenient truths
then it would hinge on cross-game chat a lot more then. which was left out of the thread.
if it's in silver, of course I'd drop gold in a heartbeat. as for now, I don't mind paying, which is partly because I used to play MMOs. as for subscription increases, I'm bothered by those more than I am the actual, original subscription. and subscription increases had happened in the MMO I used to play, so I see where this whole idea comes from for me.
Cross game chat exists in Silver. You don't need gold for it.then it would hinge on cross-game chat a lot more then. which was left out of the thread.

Define "online". Multiplayer sessions, of course. If that's it, then yes.
I like the party system. I like cross-game invites. I also appreciate the community events and attention given by the communitiy managers, from their XBL ambassadors, community developers to their policy enforcement staff.
Then again, I'm only assuming what you're definition of online is.

Sorry, that's incorrect. My silver account cannot join any parties.

Since the answer seems obvious, I'll answer the question with a question.
Would you buy Internet service if you could get that SAME service for free ? 8)
Why... no... no i wouldn't! :PSince the answer seems obvious, I'll answer the question with a question.

It'd be as pointless as PSN+ then wouldn't it?
People pay for gold because they want online, I just don't get PSN+. :?

Hmm, interesting, I was able to chat with 2 people at the same time with just silver, isn't that a party?I actually use deals of the week a fair bit, and gold is my access to sky (satellite tv) which you can get on a gold account for nothing if you have multi room...so yer, I probably would

I was not able to get into any parties when i was on Silver earlier on this year.Hmm, interesting, I was able to chat with 2 people at the same time with just silver, isn't that a party? If you mean 2 seperate chat's then no that isn't a party. How are they separate chats if we are all chatting with each other?
3 of us all chatted at the same time on Live(I only had silver at the time, other 2 had gold), while we played Demon's Souls on the PS3 in co-op.
Yeah but the PSN Plus is actually a good deal if you're interested in those PSN games....:|This is almost a rhetorical question.. Why would you pay for Live if the online portion was free. That's why I don't get people who defend PSN plus..
bu.. but.. we get the extras. Wouldn't a $15 Gamefly account get you the same thing. :|

If it means having Netflix, probably.JAB991
Except the online Netflix doesnt have the movies that most people want to watch. All the top movies are only available for delivery.
If it means having Netflix, probably.JAB991That would be even worse than paying for Gold just to play online. PC, PS3, and Wii users can all use streaming netflix without paying extra for the online service... (just like they can all play games online without paying extra for the service) Does Gold offer any features that aren't available for free everywhere else (since cross-game chat isn't a feature of Gold)?
Assuming Silver was just basic stuff+Play and Gold was all the bells and whistles. I say maybe I would pay for live. I don't think it's a no. It depends on which bells and whistles are gold exclusive. jg4xchampthat's what i think, too. kind of depends on what you get. i have to say, i really, really like party chat.

Ditto. The party system with the cross-game invites and game launching alone are enough for me... then there's the other bells and whistles that don't get alot of face time, but are still important to me.

just like some people will pay for PSN+, while the majority of users will use the free service.No. Because it's pretty much the only Gold exclusive feature I take advantage of. I could do with waiting a week or whatever for demos.
