do you know what kind of PC you can build for $5000? A mini supercomputer. Nonstop-Madness
Very much true. My budget for my build was 5k, then it went over by alot. lol.
Like the title says....for all you console players out there:
basically, if the money was given to you to make the ultimate gaming PC would you play or enjoy it more?

Not really. My PC smacks around most of the builds I see on this site, but I still dont really game on it.
Nothing wrong with PC games, but most of my favorite games have always been on consoles.
And nobody would need $5000 for a gaming PC. Mine was in the ball park of 3,200 and is pretty much overkill as far as PC gaming requirements go.
LOL consolite comments, in the real world 80% of you would take the PC and never want to go back to console gaming again...

Orrr.... in the real world some of us realize there is a such thing as preference. Hell, my favorite two games this gen came out on the weakest hardware, the Wii.
Gameplay is really the main factor for me. Dont care if a game has crazy specs.
If someone gave me $5000 and said "here you go you can only have it if you spend it on a PC", then I'd say yes as something is better than nothing, but if someone said "here's $5K, make yourself the ultimate game experience", then I'd spend that on $1K for nice TV, $1K for the most comfortable gaming sofa, $1K for a great sound system, for less than $1K I'd get a Xbox 360, PS3, and a Wii, and with that extra $1K+ I'd spend on some kickass games lamprey263but then you have no pc so it wouldn't be very ultimate. It would be, like, 3/4 ultimate or something.

That's exactly what anyone who cares about A/V winds up doing anyway. The output on the Wii and 360 isn't good enough to put on a decent sized projection screen without pre-processing anyway. The PS3 gets brownie points for actually being a good Blu-Ray player, but you can still usually hit a better note with PC simply because you can invest in a hardware / software mix that meets your needs, and use more services comfortably. - TL;DR - If you're serious about "ultimate" experience, you need to hook your gaming consoles into a PC just to get the image quality for a good theater setup.
You could game on everything with that kind of money. :|
What makes you think PC gaming costs that much?
If you gave me $5000 I'd just buy a bunch of videogames and pay off my bills. Anything left over can go towards upgrading my PC and getting a few exclusives.
I'll say it another way:If someoene told you that they were going to fund your gaming experience no matter the cost....but the only catch was that you could only game on one type...which would it be? Console or PC.
So in other words everything is paid for.

Console. Splitscreen multiplayer is a big reason why my friends and I game mostly on consoles to begin with. It's nice to just hang out on the couch with your friends over and play some games. But thanks to your kind offer we can abandon my modest living room setup and move on to this:
Just tell me where to send the 6 million dollar bill.
I'd miss my PC games... but something tells me I'd get over it. :P
Hmmm no becasue even though 5000 dollars would give me a PC capable of playing all games at their best for the next 3-4 years its still only 3-4 years past 4 years games would be released that would tax my system even causing me to either lower resolution, settings and such...or the usual not be able to play them at all.
That is still; MUCH more than I'd want to pay, jeez I could have half the games out there today on PS3 or 360 with that money.
The "ultimate experience" woudn't even cost 5k:P

That's a pretty bad selection you have there. Why does the list have DDR2? This board Asus Rampage 2 Extremecan only hold DDR3 ram. What is the DDR2 ram for?
And why is it 490 dollars? It's only 360 on the link I gave.
And the power supply? Enermax? You'd be better off with this Corsair. Especially with only 1 480 GTX. That build makes no sense.
Cooler Master case? Go with this one. Antec 1200.
A gaming PC doesn't cost $5000...AmazingGamingThe ultimate experience costs $5000. 3 * GTX 480 in 3 way SLI 2 * Intel Xeon X5680 6 core 12 thread CPUs EVGA Classified SR-2 Mobo 3 * 30 inch 2560x1600p monitor for 7680x1600 resolution SSD with 128gb, 12 gigs of ram (you can get up to 24-36gb but 12 is way mroe than enough even for the 'ultimate experience' xD)
Well, if by "experience" you mean the entire setup, TV, audio system, PC, accessories, then 5000 bucks isn't all that bad. It's not that much more than what I spent for my setup which ran close to 4 grand.
Spending 5 grand on PC alone is excessive and completely unnecessary.

I like Antec cases but Coolermaster cases are frickin awesome.I got a Coolermaster Cosmos, best case I ever bought.I think the question was meant not to be taken quite so literal. Most have not answered the question...I will..SURE, I would LOVE a new gaming PC. Mine is jacked up and about 6 years outdated. So sure, I love gaming, why not have the best of everything?
