Love PGR 3, my fav racing game ever, especially since it had the coolest luxury sports in the world: The Merc SLR McLaren.
Closest thing I've ever been to that beast, since they are rare.
Only problem is that it's automatic :(. When I get my own from some rich Japanese mafia boss who's never used it in his life, I'll get it custom-fitted with the slickest, most sexiest manual shift in history.
Oh yeah, it will be better than sex 8)
How the hell does project gotham racing 4 make you want to buy the 360 more? If you showed a Gears 2 or Fable 2 pack or something I might understand but PGR4...radicalplace
Yeah I mean its only one of the best, if not the best arcade racer going....who would want that when you could play .. err .. nothing similar on the PS3 or Wii instead!

Yeah it was so unpopular they made 4 games in the series. That is what usually happens to bad games. They make one, it doesn't sell and so they make 3 more crap titles which also don't sell.

Aren't the new 360's using the 65nm GPU that is suppose to stop the RROD.
PS3_3DO
all lies and propaganda cooked up by Microsoft. The 360 is faulty hardware, that will never change
I'm just hoping Sony can pull something miraculous and wonderful out of their rears this TGS. They better have a DAMN good compensation for not lowering the price for this holiday.
0rin
Besides the fact that the new 80gig SKU is -$100 cheaper than before, if you already own the system why would you care about the price? Microsoft is probably just flexing it's wallets muscle again selling the system at a loss or near loss while Sony may actually want to profit from the system they are selling.

the early ones did IIRC, nothing as bad as the RROD box of fail but they were pretty bad

I just thought they were trying to push it. Look at Rayman Raving Rabbids, absolute crap but they're making a 3rd game.
But either way, I still like Sony more than Microsoft, which is another reason I'm hesistant to buy a 360. 0rinUgh I find such brand loyalty strange and pathetic. Even more so considering you're just a number to these corporations. No offence or anything. If Fable 2 is all that interests you then there's no reason to purchase a 360. But to say your Sony fanship is a reason is just weird. Again, no offence :P
I personally think that by 2010-2012 we will be watching a nex Xbox, simply because of the current failure rate of 360 in everything.
lesner87
Current failure rate? Where have you been? The failure rate of the 360 has went down a lot, since they redesigned the motherboard, added the 65nm processor, etc.

Wrong. Hardware can be fixed. Stupidity cannot.. :?
A pretty much self described cow makes this thread and admits he is tempted to buy a 360 but afraid of RRoD. I have three 360's in the family and ones a launch unit that has yet to get RRoD and mine was purchased in April of 06 and hasn't RRoD.
Secondly, at least the TC seems open minded and acknowledges the 360's merits with deals like the PGR4 one and that truly is a super sweet deal and if you are a core gamer, there is probably no better time then now through the end of this year to snag a 360 and enjoy the library but the blind Sony loyalist in this thread are just about trying to trash the 360 as I guess it threatens their beloved Sony empire, well I got news for ya; That empire is already in shambles b/c they blew it big time this gen. and it's nobodies fault but their own. :?
[QUOTE="PS3_3DO"]Aren't the new 360's using the 65nm GPU that is suppose to stop the RROD.
RROD has been fixed for a LONG time. The only people still getting RROD are the ones who originally sent their older machines in for repair, because MS isn't giving them new machines, just repaired older machines.
On top of that, there is a 3-year warranty on RROD's and the turnaround time is 1 week. I know this for a fact because my launch machine went back twice.
The newer machines are also MUCH quieter/better DVDROM drives.
Its one thing to be a fanboy spewing hate, but please don't spread unfounded lies. That's just immature.
MarloStanfield

You are the one spewing lies and propaganda. The RROD has been largely fixed for a while now. The only machines still RROD'ing at a higher than normal rate are the older pre-HDMI machines.
Microsoft is already giving you a 3-year warranty anyway, with a 1-week turnaround time on repairs in case it ever happens. For $199 or $299 you seem to be grasping at straws as to why you wouldn't want to partake of all this system has to offer.

No, no it isn't.
The currently available 80 GB SKU is nothing more than the 40 GB PS3 system with an 80 GB drive stuffed in there. If it were the 80 GB PS3 featured in the MGS 4 bundle then yeah, I would say it qualifies as a price drop but with SATA hard drive prices dropping fast (especially on smaller versions like the PS3's current 80GB drive) I'm willing to bet the manufacturing cost only slightly rose with the move to the larger hard drive.

"poorly made pile of old PC parts" Nice one there. I was almost starting to think you weren't a troll.
If you honestly think Microsoft isn't working to eliminate the RROD from the Xbox 360 then you're more naive than I thought. Not to mention the fact that it took Sony about five years to eliminate the DRE from the PS2. Last I checked, the 360 hasn't been out for three yet. If 2010 rolls around and the RROD isn't fixed yet, then you might have an argument.
Admittedly, my first Xbox 360 (purchased on January 1st, 2006) died on me after a year but was quickly replaced (for free, mind you) with a newer unit that hasn't given me a single problem in over a year now. So much for having to keep MS on speed dial.
Don't. THis is just evil M$'s attempt to get you to buy their RROD machine, lolz.
Sony cares about u! They are so much bettr.
In my opinion its mcuh (much) better than the PS3 MarloStanfield
Fixed it.

Falcon motherboards have largely reduced RROD. I should know because I own one which never freezes or overheats. In fact, the 360 motherboard only gets warm. However NO electronics product is 100% failure proof including the PS3 and Wii so its inevitable that a few will fail. Most of the stories you still hear about RROD are people with the older motherboards.
