Bioshock is clearly a better game than GEARS OF WAR. However GOW Gets higher scores than BIOSHOCK. Can you haloboi honestly say to me that you have NEVER played anything "similar" TO GEARS EVER.. PLEASEEE tell me you think so. Once again to be clear, "GEARS OF WAR is a game that you have never played in the past. Any aspects of it are NOT similar to any game you have ever played."

Yet it gets a 9.6 for "ok" multiplayer. Halo2 had superior multiplayer. and bioshock gets a 9.0 So that .6 is for multiplayer huh? I guess games are just ranked on multiplayer button mashing, content is clearly looked over.

ummm i don't even play multiplayer (even though h.s. doesn't even have any and bioshock has superior single player length wiseat 15-20 hour length) but don't cry at me because the game didn't do as well as you thought....I'm not saying it's a bad game (i haven't played it besides the demo), but don't try to tell me it's a completely origional idea for a game... because i see it as a watered down god of war .......which i'm sure lots of people will agree with....Gears of war wasn't too origional but it atleast took the formula further then RE4 with co-op, online co-op, and multiplayer.......how does H.S. up the ante?

Okay so 360 owners overreact when there is multiplayer and multiplayer isn't innovative, but it's okay when there's none at all in heavenly sword how? I'm sorry, i justdon't get how this makes it better.

Face it. PS3 games are flopping pretty much every time they are released, with a few minor exceptions. The console is too expensive, and it has pretty much lost the widespread appeal of past playstation consoles. You can't even have rumble when playing PS2 games on it. How does Heavenly Sword up the ante compared to Gears? Well let me get in the mindset that I can compare Streets of Rage to Goldeneye... Ok I'm in that mindset.

Ok. Here we go.

Heavenly sword doesn't up the ante for any FPS. Since it is a run & hit people game. For this the game is "B" (even from the demo) If its a spin off of God Of War, then so be it. There is nothing wrong with not being original (See Halo/Bioshock/Gears of War) As long as it is an entertaining game, has amazing graphics, tied together with a thick storyline w/great voice talent & animations then that makes it a perfect game in my book. For what it is. I'll play it first had to decide on the length of the game. I bought a ps3 to entertain me with movies and games. Once the game is entertaining, it hits the mark. Get it? Games don't have to "up the ante" each time they come out, because realistically we have all been playing the same exact games since saturn/ps1/dreamcast. 360 games certaintly don't "up the ante" which I don't require of my game systems. I want to be entertained... That is why the WII is killing all consoles, because nintendo remembered "Wait, People just like games right? Fun games? Lets give it to them."

Perhaps reviews should be based on the type of game, because there is no way on earth I'd rank GEARS above bioshock. Sure you can tack on a fun multiplayer, but I can do that in any game w/multiplayer. Its nothing NEW.. and its nothing that "ups the ante." Hell Rainbow 6 has had "Co-Op" For forever.

I meant up the ante to it's genre not to gears (it's obviously not the same genre you were the one who brought gears up for some reason)....and it's pretty stupid to not want games to get better as they time goes by otherwise we'de still be playing pong right now......is evolution really too much to ask in this day and age? Especially when paying $400 + for a system and $60 per game? I think not........I think lots of gamers expect it and appriciate it. (hopefully)

Who wrote in the book of games that all of them have to be multiplayer in order to be entertaining? Believe me I would much rather play a fun game by myself, then hear some kid who is barely old enough to have a girls voice yelling obscenities at other players etc. Games can be fun that you play on your own, but to say a game isn't worthy of a high score because it LACKS multiplayer is ridiculous. Remember when we didn't have multiplayer? Games were still ranked with high marks. Back when we had good games.

Again HS is a run&beat people up game. I wasn't expecting it to change my world. I expect this of no game. For what it is, Graphics are amazing/Story is Ok/Voiceacting is top notch/Sound design is great. Yet its a flop because of what "beanieman2004" says.

HS getting an 8 is technically a flop if it was hyped AAA. But it probably is still a great game. Let's face it, GS is a tough review site. There is no shame in an 8 at all. Where there is a problem for the PS3 is that there is no system seller yet. I think a lot of Cows keep hoping that each next hyped game will be that breakthrough but it hasn't come yet. So the gleeful killjoy of my fellow 360 owners is probably as much relief at Sony's lack of game success as anything else. When you add up the big fall that has already started for 360 with Madden and Bioshock with Sony's lack of a huge game, the PS3 keeps losing ground.

PS, I am playing only PC right now since my 360 has just left for the repair center. So for now I get to be a hermit. To be honest, Pop Cap games are fun and I am kind of looking forward to entering the strange world of Neverwinter Nights 2. It is kind of like learning a new language.

Oh gosh, here we go again. Another PS3 game fails to exceed it's hye and cows are trying to change the rules. Which one is it? If HS is not a flop, then neither are Zelda:TP and Metroid Prime 3 . Cows, quit trying to keep changing the rules everytime you don't get your way.

I think system seller is a term invented by people trying to justify their own 360 purchase. Grown ups do research when they buy a product. Thats why the ps3 is selling as it is. Most people wanted a High Def DVD player, as well as the next generation Playstation. Thats why they bought it.

Gundam: Target in Sight

Resistance(40 player online)

Genji (meh.. I didn't care for it)

All of the ported games, and Reverse capability with PS2 Titles (Titles which are still being supported as of today. Unlike the xbox1.

Cows can hype games all they want. And halobois can bash, but what does that have to do with 4.27 million units sold globaly? No one is crying over 600 dollars. The biggest people complaining about it are other system owners. I like all other ps3 owners are enjoying the system. It has a long road to go as far as games and development. In the meantime I enjoy my 360/wii/and PC.

I just want to make sure this thread is up when we finally get our "Halo's." But I guess since they aren't out yet.. Sony shouldn't have forced us all to buy PS3's right?

Lair was a terrible game. 100% bad. Nothing was good about the game. Sorry the graphics were great, but that doesn't make a good GAME. The second good part was how easy the controls were compared to all of the reviews.. But that doesn't have anything to do with the PS3's sales, reputation, hardware or anything. Its like the 360 Ports that fail to be as good as the ps3 version. Few and far between yes, but its not bad for the 360, but for the developer.

I'm paying full price to support the developers, its a badass game. Same reason I buy CD's of artists I like vs downloading illegal Mp3s. Same reason I buy movie tickets vs downloading.

some games are not really rentable if you want to get all you can out of it. regardless of your wealth, it doesnt take a mensa scholar to know what is and isnt a waste of money. you can go to blockbuster and rent the game for a week or gamefly or whatever and do everything you can do, get rid of it, and then save the money for a more worthy purchase.

I feel sorry for you if you think worthiness comes out of any "videogame" purchase. Its a game system, its for entertainment. MUCH like a strip club or vegas. Its not an investment. Unfortunately, in this forum, it is considered a flop if it was suppose to get AAA and it barely gets an AA rating...So, yeah, the fanboys will call it a flop. That's how it works here.

Doesn't matter here , in SYSTEM WARS FORUMS. If it was hyped as aaa but only got the minmum aa score, it flopped to lemmings and any other non sony fanboy.

I think 8.0 is great, but its still a flop here. Period.
