We should discuss WoW more. WoW losers are what I think of when I see PC gamer.

StrongBlackVine

I always found it funny that people who play MMO's, a gaming genre where they socialize without thousands and interact with others almost constantly through chat or some other voice chat service (Skype, Ventrilo etc.) are viewed as anti-social losers.

The game is way too grindy now with daily / weekly content, and epic gear you have to farm for outside of raids, so you can't keep up with the times if you don't play 24/7. I miss the competitive PvE scene but yeah, real life called.

Blizzard is historically one of the greatest but my enthusiasm for the company was dampened by the Activision merger.

From my little time spent playing SC2 I think I will love that game so they are still relevant, I'm waiting for the inevitable complete edition in the future.

my biggest complaint this time around was not making any new big battlegrounds.

i would probably still be messing around with it if it had a new wintergrasp or tol barad type mass battle to que up for.

i used to just que up for those and then do things away from the keyboard like watch tv or whatever then play the bg when it started.

pve gets old super quick but player killing was something i never tired of.

i was pretty shocked as soon as i realized they did not include a new mass battle.

Best expansion since TBC, but Wrath did irreparable harm to the game. Still got a lot of life in it, though.

The majority of players absolutely hated TB. Besides, they've already allowed you to queue for TB or WSG at 90 and scaled those battlegrounds to your level.

It KILLS me that Diablo 3 is the #1 selling game of all time. Hurts my soul.

Diablo 2 is arguably the best game ever, and D3 is such a pile of sh!t. I hope you die horribly, Jay Wilson. HORRIBLY!!!

never played it, never will... Nothing against the game, I just wont ever do a monthly subscription to a game.  I'd think about it all day like I was losing money if I didnt play.  blah.  Probably the biggest KOTOR fan you'll ever meet and I refused to play TOR too.  I may play it now that its free but I doubt it.

i took like 2 years off and never got to play that one very much.

by the time i started playing tb it was always like me alone vs 3 guys on the other side.

the one i miss playing was wintegrasp, that was the one i just stayed in the que and replayed over and over again.

it was strange to me they did not have a new one like that ready to go for mop.

i would still be playing wow if i had that to play instead of quitting after i had run all the raids and finished all the daily content.

i never understand observations like this because my experience during the short jogs of time when i buy a new x-pac and play wow for a few  months until i get tired of it  is that i don't spend the normal $50 to $100 a month that i would normally spend on games.

to me mmo's are the absolute cheapest gaming experience that exists.

plus when you get sick of the mmo expansion  all the games i normally would have bought are a few months old and have had price cuts.

does nobody else do it that way?

WoW could lose half of that and still be one of the most played games in the world, and the fact that it has around 10M subscribers after almost 9 years it´s pretty incredible,no other game ever came close to that.Arach666

People feel invested in the game, it's hard to let go after they've spend hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars on a single game all these years. Even if they want to move on, it's hard......... sucks for them.

Oh it is, based on its quality carrot on a stick endgame content. Maybe when its population eventually declines and the other theme parks like elder scrolls, neverwinter ect bomb maybe we will finally see some decent sandbox virtual world mmos instead of EQ/Diablo pinnatta spanking with a virtal chat room inbetween.

I always looked at WoW as a MMORPG with training wheels. At some point you have to move on.
