Crysis looks good too, but it's aesthetically bankrupt. It has about as much artistic style as the more recent Unreal Tournament games, or Ninja Gaiden 2.

agreed. although crysis and warhead have by far the best technical graphics, the artstyle in gears 2 is top notch and trumps crysis completely.

How can we compare graphical styles to a game that has no graphical style? I like it when games have different styles, WoW is a great example. I think WoW is really boring but I love the graphics. Gears really has no stlye, besides trying to be dark.

Every chapter had its own tone and style. Bland? Their was alot of variety. The middle east is brown. South America is green. Europe is red. Shadow Moses is blue. The final level is gray.

No style? The game has a look all its own. I think you can show anyone a screenshot of gears and they'll know which game it is simply because of the design of the heroes, villians, and environment. Just because its not a more liberal style doesn't mean it has none. Style isn't always about standing out like Okami.

You have to play the whole game to understand the ending, you probably didnt play the game if you say the ending is garbage.

you cant be serious, i give you the story as seen by me and then the ending, we are in a race against time we have to stop the mole men, we find a way to flood the city, i scream and yell like a **** from a helicopter, the end. dont act like this story is deep its not, lol. its weaksauce at its finest.

How colourful do you expect a battlefield to look? It's not like you're going to start seeing trees and lots of grass just appear. Anyway Gears of War 2 has great graphics, it's improved on the orignal a lot.

You will see how much better are looking the sp levels:) they look amazing and i really don't know why do people keep saying Gears 2 is nothing then dark, they didnt even play it yet and act like they know everything about it, i played it beat it and it's fantastic not dark at all, it's very variated and not even one level looks borring or bad the art and design is stunning.

Congratualtions mr. pirate. Why don't you hand over your $60 now to epic and pay them for the experience you STOLE from them. Bragging about stealing and playing it and beating it before its released is such a loser thing to do. SOmeone will most likley mod this posting, but really they should ban this guys acct forever from gamespot just to spite him for helping to ruin the gaming industry, the bread and butter of gamespot.

Was about to say the same thing. Played the first over at a friends house, but it had like 2 colors and looked really bland.

Screen caps only my man. Taking pictures of TVs get's rid of jaggies.

What's more is the top one is a bullshot.

Cant say much about KZ2 because all we have seen so far are PRE ALPHA (FAR FROM COMPLETE) footages.But Resistance 2 seems VERY VERY colourfull with all the new enviroments they added especially the forest one,its an ignorant thing to say that it uses THREE colours :D.

Uh..and all you did was prove that it IS a bullshot by posting those gameplay screenshots.

Notice how the bullshot has an extremely high level of anti-aliasing applied? There are no jagged edges to be found.

..okay..now skip down to the real screenshots of final, in-game gameplay. See the jagged edges all over the screen? (which would be even more pronounced in a straight-up framebuffer capture)
