Just finished the game on PC. Besides terrible port issues, this game is just incredible.

The plot sucked me in, and I'm replaying it now so I could solve some missions in different way.

No game will ever get a 10 in my book, but this one is damn close. If you play it on console, that is. Thanks to port issues, it's around 8 on PC.

 spoiler warning dude..i just started working with phillawlessx
Wasn't really an important person so no worries. ;)
Don't get me wrong, I said there are a few good chase missions. For the record, this is a great game, it's just the changes had some effect into my enjoyment with it.mitu123
That's fine but I'm just saying that I didn't feel any of the missions were bad.

If anyone says Saints Row 2... :x

Speak for yourself I didn't pass judgement on the game till I beat it which took me about 25 hours. Very repetitive and boring...the story was lame, Niko wasn't interesting, no variety in the missions....

I could keep going on and on.

The game is overrated. They took out all of the fun stuff in SA and tried to force "realism" down out throats. It completely killed the game.

They didn't take the fun stuff out, they just made it so it isn't "Press X to start having fun".

I thought it was a good game for the first fifteen hours or so then started to gradually dislike it. It's just too realistic compared to previous Grand Theft Autos and there's simply not enough to do in such a detailed game world.

It's a great game. I enjoy GTA series for the realism of it. I like to wreck havoc and see how the world reacts. I've never cared for the storyline in any of the games so it doesn't bother me one bit. Bit disappointed by the lack of jet packs, tanks, and airplanes in GTAIV.

I would like for you to go on and on as well...

Alright....

  1. Why give me tons of money when I can only use it on buying clothes?
  2. Why make those stupid toll booths that only slow the game down and irritate me?
  3. Why make every chase sequence on rails? I never bothered trying to blow the other car up while chasing because I knew the driver would either wreck on his own or get hit by someone.
  4. Why make some of these missions sooo freakin long with no checkpoints inbetween? Do you really think I want to die in the middle of a 15 minute mission and then have to start all over again?
  5. I wanted more Brucie!!! Once he came on screen I was getting the good ol GTA vibe again, too bad he didn't last long.
  6. Lock on aiming? Seriously it makes the shooting easy and boring
  7. How many times is the main character Niko gonna keep talking about wanting to make changes in his life then turn around and kill for money?
  8. Go here, wack this guy, come back, go again, wack this guy, kill guy you've been working for...rinse and repeat. Niko was pretty much everyones lap dog, another reason I didn't like the main character
  9. Sooo many annoying character, especially the "streets" guy..ugh
I think that covers most of my complaints.

You didn't happen to pick it up off eBay a week and a half ago did ya? You may have won my auction. I don't think I made it past eight hours. Glad to see you are enjoying a gift, though. That's what it is all about when you are the giver.

Ok I agree with everything except for number 6.. I like the lock on aiming :D

GTAIV is not perfect but it still is fun as hell and there isnt any other open world game better than GTAIV out right now.

I think that covers most of my complaints.

1. Clothes, weapons, taxis and other stuff too. Did you expect that you could buy property? That would be tough to do since that Niko is an illegal immigrant after all.

2. Too add on to the realism of the game and there's very few of them so you're not making a bunch of stops. This is a lousy complaint.

3. Okay, this is fair.

4. No GTA game has had this so you start complaining now? Some missions take you right into the action depending on how long one sequence could be. When it's not needed, it's not used.

5. No comment. He annoyed me sometimes anyway.

6. I'm pretty sure all GTA games on console had lock-on.

7. If you followed the story then you just might understand why all of that was going on.

8. There was a more than just killing everyone and at least GTA4 didn't have to resort to ridiculous limits to keep the gamer entertained like having to steal a freaking jetpack.

9. I thought GTA4 had the best cast in a GTA game. They were much more believable and likeable.

1. I agree, no properties to purchase was one of my complaints. 2. To make it seem like a real city. There are only 2 bridges that had toll booths, I don't understand why it is such a big deal. If you don't pay, lose the one star or call Kiki to clear your wanted level. 3. Would you rather have it be like Saints Row 2 where the chase sequences have the target car going in circles while other cars keep trying to smash into you? 4. Checkpoints would be nice, but they would make the game easier than it already is. 5. Call him up, have him take you around the city with a chopper or drive a speed boat with him. 6. Start>Options>Auto Aim>Off 7. You are acting like Niko had a choice. 8. Exaggerating isn't a good way to get a point across 9. Manny was supposed to be annoying...

As much as I liked GTA4, there are things that bug me when I hop from SR2 over to it. Things that I kinda like "Oh, nevermind it doesn't have this" or "It doesn't control like this." Otherwise it pretty good. Do I think its awesome? Yes. Do I think it was bit overrated and need a more of 9-9.5 rating. Yes. Whatever, there are a few things I think it should have done differently.

GTA IV threw the fun part of a GTA game to the side, and Saints Row 2 picked it up.

GTA IV is gritty while SR2 is over the top.
