WOW Halo 3 NOT EVEN NOMINATED For Best Shooter at E3

Halo 3 isn't nominated because, just like I've been saying for years, the Halo franchise is a dumbed down FPS, and that's why it has such mass appeal. Halo 3 will still be rated high here, it just wont be rated as great as some other games coming out this year.

It's good to see that Lemmings are looking to find any way to DC the fact that the "only site you can cite" didn't even include the game that they were taunting Cows with. To add insult to injury, the games that Cows weren't touting much at all (which didn't stop lemmings from continually making Killzone 2 the butt of their jokes) was a nominee for best shooter AND Best graphics. Halo 3 was neither.

I am a Cow, but I'm using the word in 3rd person. And I didn't write-off GS as biased... some of my "colleagues" may have, but I'm not that biased. That's still not an excuse for the absolutely horrendous behaviour of lemmings preceding E3. "Down with Killzone 2, up with Halo 3!"

I wasn't a big fan of the halo series, I thought it was ok. I am a much bigger fan of shooters now, and I am replaying the halo series and its great. I am a big fan of the cod series, not too much the last one, but the halo series thus far is better. The last call of duty was so boring and generic its hard to believe that the new call of duty will be better than halo 3. Halo 1 & 2 are better thanany cod game, so why will the newcod be better than halo 3? Considering bothseries histories they will both likely be great games, but odds are the new halo will be the all around better game. tylerdurden2621

Yeah, I guess that wouldn't make me a clear-cut cow by definition. I do prefer the PS3, though. Unlike some PS3 fans, though, I actually own other consoles (Wii).

Right... I think it is dumbed down a bit when compared to the FPS multiplayer greats such as Counter Strike and Battlefield, those types of games. However, this is coming from a PC gamer as well as a console gamer. Playing both of these FPS games on both consoles (Halo on Xbox and PC) I noticed that I was very disappointed after playing it on the PC because it just wasn't as good as what was out there. Yes, it was the best Xbox FPS, but it didn't have much to fight against. Add multiplayer and it became a hit.

I just think that the game could be much more...say...advanced... then it is and still maintain the appeal that has kept the casual as well as the hardcore playing. I'm hoping Halo 3 multiplayer will take some chances but from the Beta I gathered that not much has changed.

In any case, I can understand why Halo 3 didn't even get nominated.

But I can't figure out why GameSpot doesn't realize the CoD games are incredibly linear, which makes them look amazing the first time through. It could do a "Chaos Theory" though, after they dock points off for having "little replayability".

Unlike Counter-Strike, Halo relies less on precision. It's a given. Don't even try and say just because you own in CS you can own in Halo, because quite frankly, that is just stupid.

Halo's formula is much different from standard PC formula. It has strong elements of team work as found in Battlefield (where precise aiming doesn't always guarantee victory), and not all of it relies on gun play, like most FPSs.

Could you please stop your waves of LIE when you say "Halo 3 hasn't much changed", presumably from Halo 2. Anyone can tell you that if you're skilled in Halo 2, it doesn't necessarily mean you'll still own in Halo 3. That's why all the kids were crying on the Halo 3 forums because it was "harder".
