Yeah, it's overrated graphically, but i don't care, as soon as i have my new Graphics Card, that's going to be one of the first games i buy, the atmosphere alone is worth it.

Just a few surface textures in walls and floors look amazing, as well as some lighting effects. Everything else was either mediocre or even ugly.

Its visuals are more hit and miss than other games this gen.

Technically speaking it has some pretty impressive lighting. What is really amazing about that entire game was the atmosphere. Being alone at night SUCKED.

I personally think stalker is one of the most overrated games period; graphics wise it is poor and yes I am playing with the complete mod, I just dont see what everyone sees in it, looks plain awful unless you are a lightsource which is one thing it does well. Animations are terrible as well.

I also heard people praising the ballistics and realism of the game, sure you die easily but the enemies dont, I can see my bullets hitting them but it still takes so many damn shots to kill them.

Then there is the little things that just add plain boredom to the game, quests and dialog presented through text and how every npc looks identical. I really dont see what people see in this game.

STALKER looks better than that, you have the game on medium/low. I also love how subtle and crisp the game looks; no overdone fake atmosphere with too much bloom, motion blur, fog or whatever. Also they actually make night time pitch black, not like most games at night that look like a cloudy winter afternoon.

Stalker: Call of Chernobyl was the first game I bought (with the exception of the Valve Complete set) when I got my PC a month and a half ago, and it's been my most played game since. It is simply amazing.
