Macs are **** for everything. They are over priced, underpowered, and have little to no functionality._Pinbot_
Well i don't think its underpowered, my mac has a Core 2 duo 2.4GHZ (two 1GB SO-DIMMs) of 1066Mhz DDR3 SDRAM, 2GB Ram memory, NVIDIA GeForece 9400M graphics processor with 256MB of DDR3 SDRAM shared with main memory.
I don't think thats so bad.

Actually Macs are best for sound editing/movie editing.
Worked in over 50 studios around north america and 98% of the studios are using a mac in the studios.
So music/movie editing = better on Mac
Games = better on pc
yeah, as student i've been noticing that too, i've been moving closer and closer to macs for my movie editing and music making but all my adobe flash, dream wear, illustrator and photoshop work always seem to be on pc.[QUOTE="_Pinbot_"]Macs are **** for everything. they are indeed overpriced pos
edit: and this is coming from a MacBook Pro owner.
[QUOTE="Pelon208"]I just bouth the new Aluminium MacBook with the Nvidia 9400 graphic card (i don't know if it is good or not), and i just realize that the only good game for macs are Call Of Duty 4, is there any good game for macs?
And is the Nvidia 9400 good or not?
Don't get me wrong i love my computer, i never had a problem with it al least for this 4 months. But i want to play something with my computer when i travel not only with my PS3 and my 360 at home.

Go to system>Startup disk and format part of your hard drive off for windows, follow instructions, and no, it's not a gaming laptop, but i've found some interesting things, my desktop is a little old, and struggles with Supreme commander, but runs oblivion great, this MBP, runs oblivion like crap, but supreme commander maxed out like a charm (love duo core). You should be able to run Stalker:shadows of chernobyl, supreme commander, all the old sweet blizzard games, and random other crap, but for using it for Higher end FPS's, good luck.
If i do that (i have to use Boot Camp) Windows will recognize all the hardware of my laptop?

I don't design anything im an economist so i use a lot of programs for analysis like Eviews.

Hotter as in higher temperature, more prone to over heating. although my laptop hasnt over heated, and its on pretty much 24/7
Not sure why, but my guess is, the hardware is not optimized for Windows Operating Systems.

Nope..it's not a matter of "optimization", as the hardware in a Macbook is in fact the same you'd find in a wide range of non-Mac notebooks. Only the exterior is different (and, of course, the operating system.)
It might be because Vista features "Aero", which frequently makes use of hardware (GPU) acceleration of the Window manager (which also means lower CPU utilization, but GPUs generally run significantly hotter than the average CPU when in operation.)
Vista also has a couple annoying services, like the indexing service (aka "Windows Search"), that'll access the HDD frequently. That can generate some heat too. These services can be disabled, though..which I'd recommend, especially for a laptop, as all it effectively does is consume power and generate heat. Windows Search isn't useful anyway (unless you're constantly forgetting where you put your files.)
