yes it is. Crysis Max settings 60 fps 1080p is better then Crysis Max settings 60 fps 720p. The Dark Knight 1080p is better then The Dark Knight 720p. Get it? You can't "gimp" comparisons just so you can say you are "right". Thats stuff my eight year old pulls.

And your assuming that every pc has the exact same hardware and can run every game smoothly and that there are no software compatability issues. Sure assuming everything is the same, then yes 1080p looks better than 720p, but that is not the case especially for pc users as stated before. For console users, there is monogomy amongst the hardware and sure 1080p dark knight looks better than 720p dark knight via netflix. now you introduced pc users which btw wasn't even mentioned in TC's post and want to claim automatic superiority. You cant, for every pc that can max crysis there are 20 others that cannot.
Stop trying so hard just to say you are right.
The same ****ing source will always be better in a higher resolution. You even conceded that, so why the argument? Just so you can defend your consoles? Really?
It is hypocritical to list resolution as an advantage if your not going to allow resolution to be an advantage for the PC camp, even if it is not uniform. Why should I care what your PC can do? I know what mine as well as my consoles can.
Face it, you took offense over the console hypocrisy jab and tried in vain to paint the argument in a favorable light for your beloved consoles. Going as far as devolving a same source resolution comparison into the standard "is PC gaming worth it/better then console gaming" SW thread.
like i care about who wins a pathetic "war" over material possessions. What I'm saying is that you shouldn't think automatically that console's are insuperior. There is a good cost-effective reason why peopl choose consoles over pc rigs. You should care what other people's pc's can do because guess what? They are the limiting factor when it comes to pc games. Do you think a company is going to make a 20 million dollar game and market it only to a small share of the market that can afford the newer pc parts, or do you think they are going to accomadate the game to varying levels of pc hardware? Its not consoles holding the pc back, its other pc's. If everyone owned the state of the art gaming computer, then devs would not need to worry about making game scale well and could focus on getting the best graphics they can. Why do you think the ps3 can pull off great graphics with dated hardware? Its because devs know what they have to work with and dont have to worry about the millions of different pc components that make up everyones pc, and they know that there is a market whereas graphically intesive games tend to not sell as well with smaller market. Why are you assuming that everything is homogenous, when for pc's its not? I can list more people with sub-par computers then I can people with high end rigs, so which then is the lowest common denominator? Then it becomes only the gaming pc's that are the only ones that can produce 1080p. Consoles then give a larger majority of the market the ability to play high resolution games and to experience high def tv. So now which is better, the inclusive pc which only caters to the smaller elite who can afford to stay current, or the console which delivers a similar if not better experience than its counter-part?
