WOW The New Killzone 2 footage is awesome

February 2009 should be interesting. But as of now I'm still not impressed. Once you've seen Crysis visually no other game especially a FPS is gonna impress you just be the looks department.Blackbond

I think that all depends on whether or not you prefer an industrial setting or a jungle setting. The CryEngine certainly made Crysis look beautiful. But greenery is the game's only visual hat-trick.

While I disagree that Crysis's flora is it only 'hat-trick', I think that's only because it a victim of it's own setting. A remote almost entirely isolated jungle island doesn't really offer a great variation of landscape.

Regardless of where it takes place Crysis looks better. Its not even really a contest.

Argue textures and engines all you like. As far as I'm concerned, it's how the environment complements the gameplay. Crysis is more graphically fortified than Killzone, but I find its setting disagreeable with the chosen genre. Because I appreciate the urban warzone feel of Killzone moreso, I'm going to find it more visually appealing despite graphical gaps.

Theres always that one person that weasels the Wii into every thread, totally ruins the mood.

Only thing I noticed was the bullet holes on the rocks disappearing...but when playing you cannot notice something so insignificant...I just hope it does not suck hard like Killzone did.Kahuna_1

Well the only thing that killed Killzone was the bad framerates and stuff like that which has seemed to be fixed in the new one so it is shaping up to be a killer sequel.

true, the textures in Gears2 are much more detailed.

But the lighting.... wow.. really just wow.. incredible.

hes right, there has been no direct feed footage, if i filmed mass effect of my HDTV then most people would probably wet themselfs at the graphics.

It will, and according to a dev the multiplayer will be the most improved aspect compared to the original.

LMFAO at all who are trying to brush this game off as not looking impressive. As in doing so, you are only making yourself out to look like fanboys in the last stages of denial. I do not care if KZ2 appeals to you in general or not, one must admit that the game is looking fantastic graphically for a console game.

In fact, I would even go as far as to say that there is not a currently released game on consoles that can compare graphically to this UNFINISHED game. But hey, at least I am being honest about it. All it takes is a pair of eyes and an honest, objective viewpoint. The latter being something that is sorely lacking here in SW.
