Comparing a single games online to an online service?
It has been re-presented to me over that last day or two that there are a lot of dicks on Live. I still have to go with Live because of all the stuff it offers.Â
You pay $14.99/mo to play 1 game with a mediocre service, and a community that hardly ever responds. You pay $4.16/mo for an excellent service which can be accessed whilst playing 100+ games with a community that responds too much.
WoW=people with no lives(that's just me) Xbox Live=for the hardcore gamers Wiiconnect=...don't know if there are any online games for wii yet but I guess it's for normal gamers PSN=people who just wanna game online right away

Yea but that one game needs the 15$, XBL could be done for free.

Wow, one small comment can make a lemming go crazy I bet you're gonna call me a fanboy or something now, I own a 360 and let me tell you I enjoy it. The reason I say it's for hardcore gamers is because the games for xbox360 or atleast many of the games are made to use xbox live and to get the most out of the games people will pay the extra cash to get the most out of it. I can understand people pay subscription for tournaments and such etc but for a person who just wants to game online once in a while i wouldn't say xboxlive is perfect for that. 360 atleast to me is more of a console that is specifically made for online gaming and well I guess the hardcore gamers will pay the extra cash to get the most out of all their games. I know for a fact most lemmings will disagree with me and this is what almost turned me away from getting the 360, it's how ignorant you people are and don't worry it's not just you guys cows and sheeps are bad too, but they don't seem as ignorant as you, they probably say stupider things but you guys seem the most ignorant.

Prehaps you were in a dead server? So far I manage to get together with a few good guys plus my ability to play a warrior has net me more people to talk and adventure with. Guess not everybody is blessed with that kind of luck and I'm talking from experiences I had in two different servers.

You're a warrior. I'm a warlock. Based on my experience playing the game, warrior's get into groups 2nd to a healer. :P I haven't played in around 6 months, so I haven't seen the new LFG system (unless that hasn't released thus far). Hopefully it will solve the issues with DPS-based classes not getting into groups.

You kidding? Nowadays people prefer druid tanks now that the amount of enemies that need to be tank has become an issue. Since druids get Swipe (Hit 3 enemies) and there has been a huge itemization buff for druids, I have to fight three times as hard to get into groups. :( On a positive note, I love to prove the druid chanters/warrior haters wrong.

I completely agree. Though I do play WoW and have a 64 char I find XBL a much better value than WoW. The expansion added a -10 FPS on the game and almost all of its elements require too much time. Example: Flying mounts-They force you to buy a slower(1k gold) and then faster one? (5k gold). So you end up Farming gold (TWICE) while trying to keep your player well geared? It was sad seeing people reach level 1-60 with the new races in a week. Infact at some sort of conference (I forgot which) a fellow PC developer stated " You know your program sucks when people have to download a patch from a third party" WoW is known for its horrible patch delivery and time. Worth 15 a month? Absolutely not. 10- Yes. but not 15 especially after they shoved a 42.99 expansion down our throats.- the price (+tax) of a full game. XBL is DEFINATELY a better deal.

Yeah, but you don't pay an additional 50 bucks for each game.......:| This is such a stupid comparison...I have nothing bad to say about WOW. I have never played it becasue I refuse to spend that much money every month to play one game online no matter how good it is...I just think XBL is the better value...Sure there are annoying people on XBL, but anybody who thinks you don't encounter the same thing playing online on a PC is lying...There are pros and cons to both....

/agree. I wouldn't neccessarily say World of Warcraft's community is "excellent", but I would say that it's a step up from the XBL community. I think part of the reason is the XBL community is forced to use a headset, and the younger audience would be more inclined to just shout whatever they're thinking at the moment, whereas the World of Warcraft community has the good ol' fashioned keyboard and theoretically would be much more inclined to think out their responses before typing. That's my two cents anyways.

Well, Blizzards service is much better than most MMO's. Though the WoW community makes up for that by half of them being jerks.
