To be fair...if you bought a launch 60gb PS3 in 2006, you'd have a PS3 with a Blu-ray player, a DVD player, a CD player, a SACD player, multiple flash card readers, 4 USB port connectivity, bluetooth connectivity, Wifi, fully-fledged PS1/PS2 playback upscaled in HD with smoother graphics plus a host of other features AND it looks absolutely fantastic and luxurious with it's piano-black glossy case and chrome trim. This is all without mods, there are now mods to remove region-locks for ALL media and on top of that the ability to play PSP games on the PS3. If anything, it is pretty much the ultimate console for a single console manufacturer in this case Sony and everything they have produced, amazing piece of tech. It's so good in fact I bought that model twice:
I also have a Slim 320gb but that doesn't even compare to a 60gb.

I have a 60 gig launch ps3 and its piano black looks like S*** it attracts dust vastly more then even my wii or 360s I've owned. Its ps1 bc is more limited compared to the ps2 *something on 90% of titles for the ps3 and 95 for the ps2* and there aren't any games that use ps1 bc that dont look like utter s*** unless you hook the thing up via component then turn it down to 480p, turn off the smoothing and scaling, Ps2 bc looks remarkebly better after they released the update. I just wanted to point those few things else otherwise you have most of the rest right.I agree with it attracting dust, annoying as hell but if you have it standing up vertically it limits the dust-factor a lot. That said from an appearance standpoint, it isn't really the console's fault with regards to dust lol.
I agree also with PS1 playback, it looks only a tiny bit better than if you were to play it on a PS1 yet on my TV it still looks fantastic when upscaled at 720p/1080i/1080p so maybe you should retest your games/check your TV. PS2 games look incredible, aside from PC emulation this is the best way you can have your PS2 games to look legitimately and yes you're right because up until around 2007-2008 through firmware updates, there were many issues with PS2 games but thankfully they look and play wonderfully at present day. It's true that it only plays those percentages of PS1/PS2 titles but in my experience any game I have thrown at it gets played and I have tested over 200 PS1 games and 250 PS2 games and the ones that I have heard of not working such as "10 ****c retro games" due to the PS3s inability to play mini-DVDs doesn't bother me or I pressume most other people lol.
