its probably been mentioned already, but the GC was the cheapest priced console last gen and it didnt sell well.

i seriously doubt that its price alone thats making the Wii sell out every single month

I think it s the controls. When i first saw them ithought they were a really good idea and looked really fun , but when i found out that it was a overclocked Gamecube i was put right off. But i still bought it:)

the ps3's launch price was ridiculous.

GC launch price = $200

ps2 launch price = $300

xbox launch price = $300

$100 difference

this gen the wii was $250, 360 core was $350 = $100 difference

the ps3 is a different story cause they shot themselves in the foot with that launch price

They are going after a really casual audience, and most of those people don't want to spend $400+ on something they don't need.

Casual audience + "cool" new feature + cheap price = 1st place

This gen the wii is 250$ and the Ps3 launch one was 599$ (or 499$ can't remember) anyways it still is a huge difference. And don't bring the 360 core it wasn't even worth a penny lol

you have a point, but i was referring to the wii. nintendo is doing fantastic with the DS and i support them 100% with it.

Of all the major reasons it's winning, price is at the front. It's the same reason the ps2 was outselling the 360 and ps3 for so long. dru26
