upscaling nowhere near compares to the quality of an actual hd dvd or blu ray disc

thank god for the ps3 making all their games Blu ray discs, a true HD format

So.. you think that content being stored on a Blu Ray disc is magically more HD? And that DVDs can not store HD stuff at all..?

And the fact that the consoles are the things rendering stuff in HD, not the discs.

You don't know what you're talking about. Developers can make their games in HDTV high resolution and put it on DVD, an even well developed game can still fit a CD-ROM (ok, maybe several CD-ROMs). The fact is DVD has storage compacity of 9GB so if you're striving to make a game with uncompressed 2D/3Dgraphics mixed full motion video in high defintion resolution you may run into some problems if your game exceeds 8 Gigabytes.

Only the software can be identified as being true HD by its resolution, saying XBox isn't true HD is silly.

Are you kidding? HD-DVD and Bluray are just discs with bigger storage, THATS IT!!! - you can have HD content on normal DVDS - but something like a 2hr movie in HD wont fit on it! hence the need for discs with bigger stoarge..... seriously do some research, you just OWNED yourself!
