Would anyone here really oppose a Sony Microsoft gaming console next generation, one system that would play Halo, Geow, LGP, MGS, Fable, or a system combining both Sony and MS players online. Blu-Ray Player with optional Digital Download option,

Lol, this reminds me of a fake article I wrote in my journalism class.

-Sony and Microsoft decided to join forces in the gaming division. Because of this, Microsoft decided to make Live free from that day on, as Sony and Microsoft were making a new system, codenamed "PS360". Assumed to have a Blu-ray drive, 2 GB of RAM, and a 1 Terabyte HDD. The processor was originally intended to be the cell, but hardware changes are very evident.-

Sony had a chance to but they turned MS down. Look at them now. Besides if Sony jump in now it'll downgrade the MS gaming division anyways.

Are you sure? They could just keep their systems as if and share services, and start working on a new system.

It'd be more expensive and lose focus on games by focusing on other mumbo jumbo.

There would the Wii2 and the PC. It would be nice to see a two console race next gen, like the SNES-Genesis era.

Seeing as they are essentially taking great losses to compete with each other while attempting to sell essentially the same product, you cant help but think that it'd probably be much easier for them to co-produce one machine.

You mean a 4 console race. The TurboGrafx and Neo-Geo were in that generation as well.

i actually think the competion would be between game developers.

There are already great amount of games on both sides, therefore they would have to compete for consumer dollars (gamers). Newer IP's would have to be really innovative, fun, great graphics, etc.

just an idea

With less competitors for hardware, there would be less incentive for developers to take chances on new IPs.

sony hardware and home + XBL(hopefully free) = win

the best part would be the amazing power of both Sony and MS's 1st and 2nd party games all under one house. wow that would rival EA

Yeah but the TG-16 wasn't very successfully and the NeoGeo, with its mind boggling price didn't do much better.

Since Nintendo has "removed" themselves from the race I feel like I need two choose between the two. I think next race it would be a very smart idea since they get 100% of the hardcore market. The only reason I wanted a 360 was for its exclusives and a PS3 for many other reasons. If the two teamed up a huge fortune will be shared on a machine that plays everything. Now... which controller?
