Beyond this holiday I foresee this as becoming a permanent price drop and it should be imo.. Despite all the extra features and functionality, as a pure gaming console, the Xbox One is undeniably facing a public perception problem with the continued focus on 1080p vs 900p resolution in many multiplatform games.. At the same price, it make the Xbox One a hard sell for a casual consumer who mostly buys multiplats and may not be aware of and/or interested in the One's extra multimedia and multitasking features.. But a $50 lower price point is the easiest way to put the Xbox One right back in that consumer's crosshairs..

In terms of your average gamer, lets be honest, nobody is truly seeing a tangible difference visually between a 1080p native game and a 900p native game (especially when both will be output to 1080p regardless).. It just boils down to a numbers game of perception.. "1080p is higher than 900p so it must be better".. From a marketing standpoint and a perception standpoint, thats a hard argument for Microsoft to combat right now.. To me, a $50 price drop changes the conversation from "for the same price, I'd rather get the PS4 for the 1080p" to "since the games looks the same anyway, I'll save $50 and get the Xbox One plus it does the splitscreen stuff"..

Good move for the holidays, Microsoft.. Lets make it a great move and make it permanent..

I´m a casual gamer, I swear I don´t see THAT much of a difference between let´s say 720 vs 1080 or 30 FPS vs 60 FPS, does me no good that difference when I´m playing shooters: "hey, look at how well defined that bullet coming at me looks.... " wham ! I´m dead.

What I can see as a casual gamer, and there´s millions of us, is the price drop, it may be very important to a lot of people but I´m sure that for most of us casual gamers all the things a console can do are not taken into consideration, I swear, the only purpose my consoles have is play games and that´s it, only ocassionally and very ocassionally for that matter we play a movie in them.

XB1 games alone will pull more gamers to it this holiday and with a lower price then PS4, casual shoppers will be picking one up just because of the price. It probably won't outsell them in Europe & Japan of course, but I think they will eventually catch the PS4 in US and UK over time.

The games aren't free to MS. They have to pay to bundle those games with the systems. So they remove Kinect, add a game, and go from $499 to $350. Kinect is cheap to manufacture (per unit), so for all we know they actually pay more to bundle a game like Madden or Assassin's Creed than the cost of bundling Kinect with a system. So effectively, going from $499 to $350 is a pretty big hit in just one year...

That being said, they were delusional with their launch price (and everything about the launch going into it). So this is just MS coming back to reality.

Glad we had the noble ty call this. This brings me back to a time where i was gaming on my 360 as i had 6 of them and 8 ps3s. I love oblivion and was sitting there with my crown on as i was playing gears of war (metacritic - 93/100). Such a solid price for x1. I knew this would happen.

AC Bundle actually looks tempting. Not enough to warrant a buy, but tempting nonetheless.

Yeah, I just realized this was temporary and only for the holidays. Once the holidays are over the price will be right back to $500 and $400 again. Anyone looking for a great bundle with 1TB of storage, this will be the time to get those White XB1 bundles. I'm glad I already got my 4TB HDD for my XB1. I'm golden for the rest of this generation.

Get yourself a Ouya or PSTV then. None of these systems will be anywhere close to a $100 this gen. The PS3 and XBox 360 aren't even $100 yet. LOL!! You're lose. The Ouya and PSTV would have to be $5 or less for me to consider them. Now that's a waste of money.

I have to say, judging by how uneventful my PS4 has been, playing something like Forza, Halo MCC and maybe Sunset Overdrive, and this is looking like a nice Black Friday deal. I wouldn't want to shell out $300-$350 for this though, and maybe selling my PS4 is something I have already considered. So doing a 1v1 trade might be something enticing.

At this point though, 2015 better be a monster year for these consoles. Even though the PS4 is very slow in quality games at the moment (this is my honest opinion) - it still has a much more brighter future than the XB1 based on exclusive IPs and announced games in the horizon. Bloodborne, a fucking solid Gran Turismo game (though I would be so happy of even a GT5 port and Project CARS is looking like its going to be great), Uncharted, LBP3 are all looking more exciting than any future I see behind an XB1 and well, nothing in the future really. I wonder how many other games MSFT will end up releasing for the PC.

I can say that about Knack to but the fact is that it sucks,KI is what it is because it was basically a demo,i say it was generous the score it got,when virtually every fighter this days have probably 3 or 4 times are many characters and KI,reviews are make when the game release not 8 months latter,many games get DLC and that doesn't change it score.

Is not $150 alone they give you a hot new $60 dollar game as well for $350 so basically you are getting $560 worth of goods for $350 less than 1 year from launch,is an epic Bomba and one of the biggest recorded in history i may add.

$210 dollars less than on launch is quite a huge drop,specially if you compare it with the 360,which receive no price drop until August 2007 and was just $50 no free with it.

I am sure not less than $30 per game if not more,after all 1 less COD sold on gamestop mean - $60 gamestop earnings and MS royalties i am sure it most be $30 or more.

And yeah R&D is not accounted what is accounted is the price it take you to build an pack in the unit,and i know Kinect on xbox one is even cheaper than on xbox 360,on 360 it had a chip inside it on xbox one the processing was done by GPU reservation and Shapes which handle the voice commands.

I'm sure it'll sell well in the United States, just won't everywhere else.

I get the feeling MS needs to be more desperate. They changed gaming last gen by raising the bar on console features. Now it's time they get back at the helm and change gaming for the better. First off they need to drop back game prices all around, no more $60 games, implement a $50 game price cap, and $10 discounts on digital games. And give each premium retail title a 3-month XBLG voucher. Doing these three things I think would change MS's game dramatically.
