DirectX12 and Xbox store unifies Microsoft's APIs and distribution platform hence it give advantages for Xbox platform ecosystem.

Like Sony PS Vita and PS4, laptop PC has a different form factor to desktop Xbox One and desktop PCs.

Microsoft XBox One is like Microsoft Surface tablet device for the living room.

Why a limited OS ?

Windows 10 PC has Xbox app (social) , unified digital store and unified DirectX12 APIs.
