X1 Rocket League wont have crossplay because Microsoft

Cross play would only ever matter if it were Xbox/Playstation cross play. PC cross play is something I don't want especially with FPS games! Are people insane, keyboard mouse would destroy and the only fix would be to make a game that forces PC players to uses controllers, then they would whine. I'd only every buy a cross play game if I had the option to NOT play with PC gamers.

So again, you lack anything to actually back up your original claim. Can't say I expected much better, oh well, one can hope.

People can still cheat in this game no doubt, crossplay versus multiplayer on consoles with PC is idiotic.

Its really nothing new. Almost all multiplats are not crossplay so I don't see how this is different. Its like people here bitch just to bitch.

I don't think you understand why it matters. This isn't some random game not supporting cross-play. Rocket League already has cross play between PS4 and PC. The fact that they can't add X1 to the mix after they've already established cross-play is ridiculous.

Name another game that has crossplay between Xbox One, PC, and PS4? This isn't news nor a surprise. When that game comes, it will be nice but till then it's just back to business.

What's BS about it? Cheating on a console is extremely difficult, extremely difficult, also you'll get your console banned from the network in a matter of minutes at the most if you attempt it. Putting PC players into the mix completely removes this dynamic, they are free to cheat at will with the most that can happen being anti-cheat measures, that of which none exist in Rocket League.

Don't like the facts of reality or something? They are completely different environments and depending on the game the PC crowd can destroy it for console players.

You cannot hear voice communication between PC and PS4 players and you can mute voice communication from players on your platform. So I dont see what you're problem here is. You're biggest worry is the message spam.

If you ever played the game, people trolling through voice chat is the least of your concearn because the person that you're most tempted to punch right in the dick/vagina in Rocket League is your teammate.

Enabling crossplay will:

1. Integrate you within an MMR/ELO/Glicko system (whatever it uses) that is not as volatile compared to how the game launched initially on PS4/PC.

2. Allow for shorter matchmaking times.

3. More players to play against. There are more players playing Rocket League on Steam right now than Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

4. Have the top players in the game within your pool. Excluding them in a competitive game system reduces the quality of the competition that the game is riding on right now.

5. The game has regional servers, so the more players in a pool, the better for XBONE owners in other parts of the world. Matchmaking times are significantly shorter at certain times of the day than others.

6. Ensure the health of an active playerbase as the game continues to expand its content (The studio are doing a great job not splitting the community while adding content at a good pace).

7. The flavour of the month period of the game is gone and the XBONE release will likely not have the same impact, so it needs the support of the existing community that are still enjoying the game.

8. Not having crossplay does not look good for the XBL Gold Service that you're paying for that excluded all of the above for a game.

xbl has games with cross play though. the issue is completely between MS and Sony I would imagine. Neither company wants crossplay between PS4/Xbox

I agree, it's all about making profits for the 2. Sony can't make a profit if crossplay is allowed with XBL Gamers as well as MS can't make a profit with PSN Plus Players, they can only make an additional profit with the publisher of the game with their servers. Hell, maybe the XBL and PSN+ servers are written differently? Whatever the issue is, it's something that Rocket League makers have to figure out and cut out a deal with both, but I could imagine it will take a lot of money to make it happen.

No it's not. It works very well with Rocket League. Sometimes I can't tell whether I'm playing a PC player until I check the score. I would agree that PC gamers might have an advantage in FPS games, but that shouldn't hamper non-fps games from doing cross play. Multiplatform games shouldn't be isolated by platform. It's the same game, so why not include everyone playing it?

It's a shame because X1 offers vastly superior matchmaking., but I bet it's because of either some netcode incompatibility with either PS4 or non-Windows 10 PC or the fact that their matchmaking would work on ONLY Win 10 PCs.

Examples are unnecessary and whether I can name them or not is completely irrelevant, you can cheat easily in nearly any online game on PC, this can have damaging effects on crossplatform games on console all the same as PC, something consoles are generally not subjected to...
