Good because navigating the x1 ui right now feels like a chore. I much prefer the ps4 ui. I'm happy to see MS trying to resolve the issues fans such as myself have expressed. I'm looking forward to the update.
Good, at least one of these consoles will actually have a decent UI.
It takes fucking forever to do anything on the PS4 and X1.
Hahahahah it's got so bad lems have to claim a half-assed UI timing. Should have read the disclaimer instead of paying attention to the Xbox fanblog, fellas.

Yeah, people generally have better things to do than give this desperation any credence.

You clearly don't.
@funkmaster1233: I had a few minutes kicking free, thought I'd spend it giving a lem a slap.
All you did was downplay the Xbox One doing something better than the PS4.
I wonder if the new Xbox One Elite with the Solid State Drive could factor into this speed increase or is that just for game loading?

This thread is based on a xbox site BLOG is has as much credibility as you do..lol
What MS should fix is the hour long installs, which i am sure bother more lammings than the UI.
Enjoying playing your PS4 games on a sluggish Interface :P
For real.? The xbox one is confirmed to be much slower dude.
I'll take my chances, Microsoft already said it's substantially faster, 50% got thrown around somewhere, I don't have any doubts.
Yeah we believe it when it here and compare on a much credible site, yeah they are wonderful with numbers which are almost always off.
I think they should focus on shorting install which really a shore vs the PS4 on PS4 in a few minutes you are playing on xbox one can take more than an hour in some game cases.
Faster at getting games a minute fraction of the community is interested in. I'm actually curious if install times have been rectified with this update, I don't see why not, there's no drive or hardware limitation.
Really because MS has the game that every one wants right.? That is why Forza 6 is Number 1 on amazon right.? Oh wait it wasn't even on the top 100 what the fu** man.
Windows 10 take a long time to install games the witcher 3 took more than 25 minutes for me,when on PS4 in a few minutes you are playing,i think is the fact that the PS4 was design to allow you to play the game while it install i think the game install certain data and after that you can start playing which is incredibly convenient.
Unless install are re done to allow you to play that way i think it will suffer from slow install.
Look at El Tormented trying to give advice about suspect sources hahahaha what a joke
So what are the sources i have posted are that not trust wordy .. This should be fun..lol
Too bad you don't know this first hand Mentos :P
You people should stop i won a PS4 and a PC and i have posted picture of both you people are on denial by this point now..hahahaha
We're aware. Thanks.
Considering that you CLAIM you not a lemming you surely are walking on their shoes now, posting article from xbox blogs is basically Blackace or Foxbatalpha stile of posting.
Just saying.

I can't be bothered with your repeated idiocy. **** off.
It's so much better. I got the update last night and took it for a spin. Its a bit sluggish in some areas (as expected in the preview program) but it's so much faster when you want to snap an app. (I use Pandora A LOT when I'm playing a game) I can definitely see the difference in speed. Loving the new UI.
A bit off topic. I only joined the preview program 2 months ago with only 40 feedback points. Not sure how I got it before the people who have way more points than I do let alone been in the program longer.
I've had it for a while now under early preview testing and overall I'm very pleased with it, though I never really had big issues with the current UI.
The new guide is the best thing about NXE, it is instant and your friends list show up right there, its even faster than the 360 by far. I like some of the other changes too, like now you can see more of your custom background in the dashboard areas, you'll have fun setting up your favorite screenshots as backdrops :)
Kinect functionality is just like the old OS, though I have not seen Cortana yet, so hopefully that will be a nice addition to the UI for people who like using the voice commands.
I also didn't have many issues with the current UI. If that's "confusing" as I have seen people call it on here in the past then I can understand some people drowning in their own bath tubs now.
Still, I enjoyed the fact that MS changed it on 360 and look forward to this one. PS4 UI is also no trouble to me.
@cainetao11: yea, I never found the old UI confusing. Its slow as shit when you want to do something in game but I was never confused or unable to find something. Their store on the other hand needs a revamp. It needs more filters and categories and a wishlist.
@Chutebox:I think the official release date is November, the same time BC officially releases. Cortana isnt coming til 2016 but will be available for preview late this year.

I just installed the new UI last night and I personally liked the old UI better. The new UI has too much bloat. I'm really not feeling the community tab as the activity feed or the Apps tab with all the listings for discovering content on all those apps. I can see the benefit if you dont have cable and use apps to watch tv but I hope I can turn it off.
I never had an issue with speed on the old UI. I think that has something to do with people's internet speed. Just like theres people here complaining about games taking 30 minutes to install I never had that problem. I have 300Mb internet and I can download a 50-60GB game and play in 15 minutes, I dont know what people are talking about having 30 minute installs maybe thats from disc?
I also dont understand people that complained about the old UI being confusing. It was arranged in three screens. Pins to the left, home screen in the middle and friends/store to the right. How thats confusing I'll never understand. Did you guys ride the short bus to school?
Anyway, I hope this is the beta version and the final version looks more like the Xbox App in Windows 10. Currently its kinda like it but missing about half the features.
The Xbox App in Windows 10 is almost perfect. The menu controls are on the left, to the right of that theres a column with recent apps, then the activity feed/home screen is in the middle and the friends section is on the right. The menu has game dvr, achievements, messages, alerts and the store in the left icons bar. Much cleaner than the current beta build on the console.
