X360 or PS3: Which console is considered more successful (so far)?

Though both are considered successful platforms in the eyes of their manufactuers and fans.

But, in your personal opinion, which one you consider the most successful platform overall (games, online, sales & profit to manufacturer, popularity & # of fans, etc...)

I think overall means profit so xbox 360 by a long shot.

I would say the 360 up until a year ago. Things are in the process of changing though. It's pretty obvious the PS3 is becoming the premier platform of the two.

As the TC stated all three consoles have been successful this generation. The least successful IMO is the PS3 since it was coming off a dominating market share performance of the PS2. Sony though has been fortunate to push blu-ray as the new standard format. This should aid them going forward.

There is no possible way a logical thinking human being who even remotely follows this hobby can check ps3. Matter of fact I think ill keep notes on people who do for future reference of insanity.

edit... so far 6 have checked ps3 and none had the back bone to even post a reason why.

Very true. Even if Sony does shape themselves up, it doesn't change the fact that they've lost a ton of billions thanks to PS3 itself, has lost all the profits that they made off of both PS1 & PS2, has lost most of the marketshare to the 360, & have lost most of the sales over to the Wii.

Plus I just got to laugh at the ones who voted for PS3. No way is it successful over 360, especially when it wasn't as successful as the PS1 & the PS2.

Now that you made me have to pull out the spreadsheet we can also talk about how the games on XBL are also better then the ones on PSN also. So the 360- has a better download and retail game library then the PS3.

Well obviously the 360 leads in sales, but sales of the respective hardware mean nothing to me, it's not like I'm gaining anything from it.

So the PS3 is more successful in my eyes thanks to the multitude of exclusives it holds(and the new ones coming out), and the fact that I use the Blu-Ray player on it all the time. This is also combined with my gaming PC though, which can play a large number of 360 games that the PS3 doesn't hold.

And most of the exclusives, IMO, aren't even "all that & a bag of chips" in comparison to the PS1 & the PS2 days.

And yes I am a gamer, but not a blind one. That's like stating the 360 or PS3 is more successful than the Nintendo wii. Sure you may like the 360/PS3 more, but from a logical/factual standpoint, they're not.
