I prefer both.

360/PC have been fighting for my attention since late 2005. So 360 then.
I played ps3 for some decent amounts of time for Heavy Rain, and a few multiplats, but not much else I really care/cared about.
The Wii... I guess there was Wii Sports. Super Mario Strikers was pretty fun for a while too.
i prefer the ps3, but i own an xbox 360 too.
went from 2008-late 2009= preferred xbox 360
2010-onward= prefer ps3
PS3 it has the games I want. The only game I am remotely interested in on 360 is Gears of War 3 and after playing Gears of War 2 I can say that Uncharted 2 is much superior and I'm sure if I thought UC2 was better than GeOW2 then I see no reason why I will think GeOW3 is superior to UC3.
50 person advantage really isn't that big of a deal no matter how you put it. Not sure what the "true gaming" remark is supposed to mean, but I'm guessing it's a jab at Kinect, which is partially responsible for the lead that the 360 has been maintaining and possibly increasing over the ps3. True gaming is playing the best games on ANY system. Which is why I don't restrict myself to just the 360, even if it is my preferred console.Nice to see so many people prefer PS3, it gives me hope that true gaming is not dead yet.

Europe 360? Sorry ps3 sold more here cc 4 million despite launching almost 2 years later after 360. Let alone the fact 360 is cheap as it can be, sometimes difference was like 200 euros(280$).
Well, I have both a 360 and PS3, but I much prefer my PS3. Sales don't necessarily equal preference in all cases.
I used to prefer the 360 because when I was at school I knew a lot of people who played online. Now I prefer the PS3 because the exclusives are much better than those on the Xbox and it's a great all round media player.
Since we all know the numbers here of cows and lems are about even, yikes, that's a whole lotta lems voting for the PS3.
Anyway, it will likely shock many here but I'll go with the 360. :P
[QUOTE="lqcevox"][QUOTE="UCF_Knight"] All those regions are part of the world. It is a cohesive whole. The 360 has sold more consoles worldwide. You know.. since worldwide consists of the world. That would make the 360 more popular in the world. The PS3 could be more popular at my local elementary school, but that would not make it more popular in the world. There's no easier way I can explain this phenomena.UCF_KnightIf thats the case.. I thought PS3 outsold Xbox360 last year(as of yearly basis)? That would mean the PS3 is more popular last year no? Perhaps. I don't follow sales by individual years, but if did, then sure. But preference and popularity change and so are only relevant when looking at current trends. Take poular music, for instance. Say there's two bands, both of which are still quite poular. One has been around 6 years, the other 5. The 6 year old band has released more albums, having been around longer, and has more top 100 songs, and more total record sales. The 5 year old band has more #1 hits, despite having less songs overall, sells more records every year, and although the first band had a platinum album first, the second bands album took less time to hit platinum. Which is more popular?
If the question is "Which one do more people prefer (which is more popular) now?" the more relevant information to base the answer on is not which one has sold more records overall, especially since that involves comparing uneven periods of time, but rather which one currently sells more. Looking at the last quarter, the PS3 was the more popular console, if sales are an indication of worldwide preference as you have stated. Obviously, popularity swings back and forth; 360 was more popular the quarter before (first quarter in calendar year 2011), but looking back at the last year, the 360 has won 1 quarter, and tied 1, while the ps3 has won 2. So... over the last quarter, the PS3 was more popular. Over the last year, the ps3 was more popular. Over the past 2 years, the ps3 was more popular... In fact, the only way to make 360 win is by including a period of time in which the ps3 didn't exist. Of course the 360 was more popular during that period--it'd be pretty hard NOT to be th most popular when you are the only candidate, but the fact that the lead in total sales is less than it was when the PS3 was released indicates that during the time in which there was actually a choice, the PS3 has been the more popular. The fact that the 360 took 9 months more to reach 50 million sales than the PS3, despite the fact that the PS3 was in competition with the 360 and Wii--and was more expensive than both--the whole time, while the 360 had 12 months of being the only next-gen system to choose from is also pretty compelling evidence over which is more popular.
[QUOTE="DarthJohnova"][QUOTE="UCF_Knight"]System Wars: PS3 Rest of the world: 360delta307475 Million PSN accounts > 35 Million XBL accounts. Really?? And don't give me the whole 'but they pay for one so only have one', plenty of my friends have like four accounts which they use for individual games. Which is stupid.rubbish because PSN acounts also include the Psp, you don't need either a Ps3 or Psp to have a PSN account, you are more likely to have multiple PSN accounts for online because it is free, judging a consoles installed base useing active online users really just isn't accurate at all, there are too many variables, using sales figures is far more accurate, your friends do not equate to the rest of the world, if they pay for 4 xbox live accounts then they have more money than sense which is indicitive of a very small percentage of the population, that being said the difference in sales number is so small it doesn't even matter, either way there is no way to determine what is the most preferred system worldwide, region by region maybe but worldwide no.Yes PSN accounts include PSP as well. But Xbox Live gamertags = GFWL gamertags = xbox live on WP7 gamertags. One doesn't need an xbox to have a Live account either. So if you call the 77 million PSN accounts rubbish, you have to call the 35 million Live accounts rubbish as well. Also, saying PSN users are more likely to have more accounts because PSN is free ignores the fact that the 35 million number is referring to total Live accounts, and not Gold subscriptions (as far as I can tell, they didn't secify how many were Gold this year, but last year were quite proud of the fact that about 50% of the total Live accounts were Gold subscribers. One assumes that if it was 50% or more again this year, they'd have made a point of mentioning it again.) So again, if the 77 million is inflated because they are free accounts and includes more than just PS3 users, so is the 35 million for the same reasons.

Wow! So your counting yourself as 'The World'
.Oh, and for the record I prefer PS3. lolzUCF_KnightDon't worry, I've managed to mystify nearly everyone else in this thread as well.
PS3, of course. Vastly superior exclusive line up, no online fees, lower failure rate, more bang for your buck, Playstation plus service, blu-ray player, better graphics, more classic games, capable of playing PS1 & PS2 games, web browser, less annoying online community

I was pro 360 for the longest time... though now I much prefer the PS3. If you had asked me this even a year and a half ago I would have said 360.
PS3 mainly because I prefer the exclusives on PS3 and I don't have to pay $60 a year for online access.Moriarity_Wow $60 a year is crazy, especially when they sell them for $50 at every store. Personally the most I have paid is $30, usually just $20 or $25. Still I agree not having to pay is always better than paying. It is weird though, I agree with the PS3's huge advantage of free online & clearly better exclusive line up however I still greatly prefer the Xbox 360 console. This is only due to the huge margin in favor of the Xbox 360 of friends whom prefer the console against those whom prefer the PS3, my preference for Xbox Live rather than PSN, & the fact I absolutely hate the PS3's controller compared to the 360's.
[QUOTE="TH1Sx1SxSPARTA"]the title says "prefers" . not which console has sold most to date. their different things. i have made 2 360 purchases. does that mean i prefer it? nopeUCF_KnightSo it makes more sense that the console that has sold considerably less, is the more popular console worldwide?
Yes , the reason it sold more is not because the majority prefers it nor because it's more popular , it's because it was available for a longer time , a whole year , just sum the yearly average sells of the ps3 to its overall number and you will see the xbox fall behind , ALSO , I fail to recognize the republic of the world , so here where I live the playstation is far more popular than the xbox , where you live it's the xbox , you can't generalize and ignore dozens of aspects when the amount of marketing is a hell lot different across the world and most people stick to a single console , which even further decreases the simple matter of 'preference'.
Having both consoles for years I feel very confortable to say that I prefer the ps3.
ALSO , I fail to recognize the republic of the world RoOodriGowWDoesn't matter what you'd like. This planet is a cohesive whole whether you like it or not. You can go by individual states, or cities, or even Piggly Wiggle grocery stores, doesn't matter.

Yeah it is different every where, years with both consoles and I prefer Xbox 360, the numbers speak for themselves yet who really gets off looking at numbers?I own a 360, but the ps3 has been delivering a lot more lately where it matters most; the games. So I vote ps3.
