Niche games are usually hard core. Do you want to start a debate about what defines a quality game? Do you want to explain to all the X360 users that an 8.5 is not quality crippling their game library? Do you really want to discuss a niche game can not be hard core? Meaning a mass appeal game IS hard core? In that case Wii sports, and Nintendogs are one of the most hardcore franchises.

Yes and carnival games on the Wii sold over 1.5 mill while No More heroes hasnt even sold 400 k.

FF is the casual gamers choice of RPG and it will sell a lot on both consoles, Tales games are great games but they are not as well known.

Last time i checked, Lair and Haze sold a lot better than some great multiplats on PS3

As for "hardcore" games thats a term used by gaming nerds to make themselves feel important. There are certainly casual games (Madden, Sims, Wii Sports) but some people dedicate vast amounts of time to them and are unbelievably good, does that make them hardcore? Or is your definition of hardcore merely reserved for games that not alot of people play?

Epic advertising = Epic sales. Nuff said.

No it is not. I don't have a definition of hardcore because I don't believe in segregation of games (or any entertainment at that) This whole topic is just a joke with an ulterior motive as mentioned in my reply to vashkey. But for the sake of discussion, let's assume a hard core game is a game that requires a long attention span and absolute dedication (You can fully dedicate yourself to madden, but you don't have to! That's why it's still casual by this definition) If we assume that only a handful of people posess this skill, a niche if you will, than clearly ToV is hardcore. And as previously mentioned, good reviews make it a quality game.

There are more 360s than PS3s out there, so why would Squeenix abandon MS? They want to make the most money possible.
