Well they'll sell at least 26 more.

Officially console sales in China is zero because the government has a console ban on it. So, they bought import instead. China is a big market, but, their gaming is primarily PC gaming.
China lifts 14-year-old ban on gaming consoles
yea, but the ban was lifted as far as i know. unless they re-enlisted it after this announcement. what will be interesting is even though China primarily games on PC right now will they take to gaming consoles as well. will they buy into the idea of gaming on consoles. its not like they had an option before. give the people options and some might make some surprising choices. especially since they never really rejected consoles...they just didnt have access to them.

Actually their primary gaming are clones, original consoles made only in china, and outdated portables featuring 256 colors and finally stereo speakers in 2013.

I know man, 256 colors with stereo speakers is the new PSVita.
Please understand how the majority of China not hon kong related, has a high low class rate. If they release the X1 and PS4 at $50 and $80 there it may sell well. Technically, they may make the money back depending on how many of the insane millions of people they could get to buy it. But something tells me they won't do that.
I still can't believe they're THAT late. These aren't small markets, pretty sure they've lost plenty potential sales to the PS4. They should've aimed release before summer IMO.
HOLY SHIT...i did not realize MS didnt release in all of these spots, and still sold 3.9 million units. there's a lot noteworthy places there. Xbox One's sales are going to pick up a lot in September. still wondering when they're releasing in China though...
Most the 360 sales came from the US and UK. Sony is in the dominant position outside of the US.
Most informed people knew that if PS4 just kept it close to even in the US the generation was already decided.

I am pretty sure those other 27 million sales came from somewhere not the U.S. and the U.k.

oh ok, its nice having someone on the board that's familiar with the area. it sounds like both Sony and MS are going to have to do some maneuvering to get into that market.

There's also the fact that since some areas/cities//etc. are poorer than others, or have a high crime rate, that they won't allow the actual companies to sell their consoles, they would sell it to a brander and they would release it in those areas under a different name, but they may keep the name of the console itself, like for example, ChangsINC Xbox One or LingJohns Playstation 4.
:One more interesting thing, but far from the last, is that there are areas where they are limits to internet connectivity, or limits to electricity. While only a few area have this problem, considering the sze of china, it is still a lot of people. Add in the fact that areas with this in effect are also among the poorer as well, then it's all a wash up.
A lot of people believe that selling consoles in china outside of HK, will some how move tons of millions, but that will never be the case anytime soon. If either console can move 5 million in the mainland or more that would be considered a grand success. The only way they could move tens of millions, would be to place the consoles at an insane low price, and even then, there are so many issues and restrictions I have not mentioned, along with the ones above, that even if 10-20 million would be sold in about 2-3 years, it would hit an instant wall.
@acp_45: I owned the Ps3 and 360 last gen but will stick with my PS4 & Wiiu this gen. I can't validate having 3 consoles at the moment. And the fact that we don't have Azure servers here in S.A makes the Xbone less appealing to me anyways. (Look at Titanfall being canceled in South Africa) Who says they may not do that with future games as well?
What the hell is the hold up, it's not as if the console is selling out in all markets so they have some to spare. Or is Microsoft really this terrible at localisation? or are their Azure server not ready?
Either way they have messed up big time, that have pretty much given Europe to Sony... oh well better luck next time.
Well, the Russian market just got a little larger with its annexation of Crimea. I wonder if Putin will find a way to use M$' spy-eye to his advantage?. Perhaps he'll be able to peek in on Jewish families celebrating Passover before he decides to round them up, or use it find political dissidents.
M$ deserves a lot of credit for helping to usher Fascism into the 21st century with their little Orwellian spy tool.
@D4RKL1NG: If EA could do that with TitanFall they could easily do it on any other game.... Their main argument was that the ping was 166ms and that's exactly what we've been playing bf3 bf4 etc.... on all this time........Why didn't they take that away ?
@Sweenix: You'd think they should do this sooner than later since the territories they are selling in mainly are being lost to Sony.
It will most likely launch with a bundled game like Titanfall, Halo or something else. They'll still sell some systems.
