It was never the cool thing to say. It was never clever. It's about as dumb as $ony or M$. Besides, no one ever called it the "XB". The predecessors were either "Xbox" or "360". You might as well call it the XBO.AncientDozer

except that you can't use $ony as a lemming, since the irony would be overwhelming.

It's called Xbone because that's what Microsoft is going to be doing to Sony next gen.

If MS is ok with calling it Xbone, then they should have no problem referring to owners of said system as "Xboners".

Well it obviously shows it was effecting them as an insult for them to try and backfire it like that.  They've got the domain name so nobody else claims in order to further mock the XBOX brand and now they're using it themselves to degrade it's effect.  Smart?  Maybe.  But it would of been better if MS would of completely ignored it because now it shows their weakness to petty insults like Xbone.   Therefore the insult XBONE has been an amazing resounding success.

From this thread alone, I will forever call the Xbox One, Xbone.

MS could've named it whatever they wanted, so they get to live with the entendre they created.

Xbox One is a stupid name to begin with.  Xbox would have been just fine.
