[QUOTE="JiveT"]I wonder if any of the new systems will have a dedicated physics processor. I remember hearing about one for the PC but I haven't heard any of the hermits in here talk about it in a long time.Nameless-Hero
Physics based processors will soon become obsolete and so could Graphics cards because general processors will soon become so powerful that there will be no need for them(PS2)emotion engine
You would think so, but don't you think that with a dedicated graphics processor we could, say, have better looking games? Nobody "needs" any of the things video game consoles have to offer, but it would never hurt to have the extra power.this post is a joke.. lmao..
look here xbox360 has to upgrade so soon?
any ways.. in the next 5-8 years you will see 80 core cpu from intel teraflop, you will see geforce video cards with a teraflop
oh and i hear xbox360 fanboys talking about how PS3 is crap and there 9 cell cpu is crap why is 360 wanting it then?
face it for the games coming up you will need more power xbox360 is slow and people will see that intime.. you dont have to bea smart man to see that..
xbox360 is the now and PS3 is the future
probably a 3% chance of more then 8 cores if it comes in 2012 or sooner. P.S. the PS3 has 1 main core and 6 secondary cores. The 360 has 3 full cores. There is a difference. the secondary cores can not run full code. only specialty code the main core tells them to. All 3 cores on the 360 can run full code. All of you doubting and laughing are DAMN IGNORANT to how technology is advancing. i would NOT be surprised if its even more powerful than that. Your all the types of fools who sound like they if they saw a piece of technology from 3 years from now you would scream "black magic" and kill the person. its REALLY EXTREMELY pathetic, how you guys are laughing of all things. Wasdie, ROFL at YOU that you think that because now 2 gigs is fine that in even one year it will be.A-LEGENDnah man. it's not gonna be anything like that. sorry. 2011-2012 will not see tech drop so low in price that a machine like that will come in around or below $400. get real. At best, the only thing on that list we could hope for is a multi-Terabyte HDD. maybe 2TB. everything else is quixotic at best.
