Such delicious bait, curious how this will pan out.
On topic, 360 had several issues of disc scratching, plus, using Blu-ray discs, those things are highly durable.

Blu-ray discs have a protective coating and have "hard-coat" technlogy.I read it "PS3 doesn't eat discs for breakfast like Xbox 360" And that is the correct way to read it.ShadowDeathXthis my 360 has eaten 3 games. My ps3 was knocked off a self by my stupid roommate while playing a game not a scratch on the game. My ps3 is a tank, teh original phatty
Blu-Ray scratch protect coating > crappy, inferior DVDs used by the 360. Not to mention it's highly prone to scratching the hell out of discs anyway.
the 360 will scratch the disc (and render it unplayable) if you move it. the PS3 doesn't do this. Some-Mist
This thread is like a Sheep insulting the PC platform for graphics. It makes no sense.

thats a lie. early 360s had this problem, but they fixed it. ps3 slims are doing it now You do realize Blu Ray discs have a protective coating on them right? But hey, whatever helps you convince yourself your console is "winning" at something ;)Its strange how PS3 has degraded in quality as this generation continues while 360 improves. The new 360 slim is a nice sleek console that works, PS3 slim model feels like fischerprice plastic and its loud as a bugger when inserting and removing discs... like an OLD beta machine.
I'll give you $5 if you move your XBOX while its on with a disk in, do that with the PS3 as well and we'll see which disk gets the short end of the deal ;)

But then he'll have to spend $60 replacing that 360 game, so its not very economically viable.
If we did it with an old 360 vs. fat ps3, you would win the bet. if we did it with the new 360 vs ps3 slim, I would win.I'll give you $5 if you move your XBOX while its on with a disk in, do that with the PS3 as well and we'll see which disk gets the short end of the deal ;)

This. One of my best friends had a 360 since launch, and went through a copy of Oblivion, and I personally witnessed the death of two of his Modern Warfare 2 discs, one of which was my fault. (He had his console plugged into ethernet and I tripped over his cord). I took him to the store and got him a new copy.Blu-Ray scratch protect coating > crappy, inferior DVDs used by the 360. Any evidence for what you are saying?

Then why does it matter?
if you try to sell them people wont buy them Yes they will, no one cares about a handful of small scratches when buying a used game.To be fair, the PS3 this entire generation has felt like a console still in the beta stage. -mandatory installs (cows want you to forget about this) -no rumble for its first 2 years -terrible underdeveloped API that made development a nightmare -no in game XMB for first 2 years -no cross game chat -no cross game text chat or in game messenging for its first 2 years. Basically no way to communicate with people in ANY way outside of the individual game's matchmaking system -bloatware OS that uses up so much ram. both consoles have 512mb of ram. PS3's bloatware OS originally used up 140mb of that, which was then reduced to 67mb where it remains. 360's uses like 30mb. for a console with 512mb of ram, thats a significant amount -Teh Cell........(because, "teh cell" )Its strange how PS3 has degraded in quality as this generation continues while 360 improves. It doesnt matter. The BluRay discs are very hard to scratch. So moving the ps3 slim probably wont render it unplayable

seriously my slim is the cheapest plastic ive ever seen.
something thats intended to sit in place is supposed to be made out of expensive plastic? You ps3 has been sitting in the same place you put it in for years and it hasnt moved for along time, right? My friend says his ps3 games have small scatches on them but they still work, yet my 360 never has gave any scratches. why do sony use such crappy electornics and scratch game discs? Another idiotic topic brought to you by the reach3 herp derp foundation...
ok son PS3 disks are coated which protects the actual disk layer, and honestly it comes down to how you look after your optical media aswell dont look after it and honestly it wont work and its your own damn fault.
And honestly a PS3 at launch compared to a 360 of the same era is a better built machine, aesthetically and internally.
