Xbox 360 Elite Demand Not High

I just took a trip around to all my local stores that sell video games. After a trip at 1:30pm to Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Gamestop, EB Games, and Circuit City, I found that they ALL still have Elite systems in stock.

I know some of these stores got as little as 4 units, and they all have systems in stock. Is the demand not there? I would have expected the stores with the smaller quantities to at least sell out, but it doesn't look that way.

A quick trip to Ebay shows systems selling for a premium over the retail value. Could my market just be an anomaly?

I can only speak where I live and target was sold out this morning at 8:15, both 2 eb games were sold out by noon anf 6 gamestops were sold out anywhere from 11-5.

Also circuit city is sold out.

FYI, Keep in mind this unit is for a certain demographic and not for all.

The Target near my home reportedly sold 35,000 Elites within 2.34567 nanoseconds of the store's opening.  Totally serious.

You could still go online and pick it up. I am amazed  that it hasn't sold out on its first day.

Yeah I made a thread about this also. In my area nobody is buying any. THe Walmart near me had like 4 sititng there and the guys were talking about how none of them were selling MikeE21286

 Nobody wants one anymore. The thing is like, what over a year old? It's like you are going out to buy a brand new car, you won't want to buy a Nissan 2006 when it's 2007.

I personnally don't see how anybody thought it would sell out in the first place. It's not like it is a new console. The only people going to want it is people that don't have a 360, and the hardcore gamer that just has to have the best 360 made.. I wouldn't mind having one, but I am playing the waiting game on this gens consoles. The 360 breaks down all the time, the PS3 looks like it may flops, and the Wii could turn out to be just a fad that fades ina year or two. So I will just play PC and Nintendo DS Lite and wait and see how things play out. BUt at this time, the Elite has my attention the most with the Wii looking good for a second console for my kids (and me too).l-_-l

If I was you I would wait for the new 65nm chip to start being made for the 360, which should happen sometime this spring. I would get an Elite probably late summer, early fall.

Yup, well there will be some good games in the future running the 1080p...I can't remember if Motorstorm runs it too but what type of arcade racer has no split screen and only 8 tracks eh? Soon, Lair and that will be in 1080p...but soon Hal0 3 will be in the 1080p as well, at least the rumors say...

I went to get CastleVania today(Awesome game) and I saw about 14 Elites just sitting there.To top it off,the clerk actually tried to sell me one lol. What happened to it killing the Ps3?Dualshockin

I know some of these stores got as little as 4 units, and they all have systems in stock. Is the demand not there? I would have expected the stores with the smaller quantities to at least sell out, but it doesn't look that way.

A quick trip to Ebay shows systems selling for a premium over the retail value. Could my market just be an anomaly?
