ROFL at people acting like a handful of stores around them are representative of a mass market trend.  Get over yourselves it's pathetic.

Its the price people. The consumers don't want to spend anything over $400 for a console.

The Elite isn't being advertised on television yet, so at this point the only people buying it are the hardcore gamer who knew it was coming out. I think it's basically being integrated over the summer to grab those hardcore sales, give buyers a new color choice, and at the end of the day, they're getting the launch out of the way in a low-demand time so that they can get a ton of these in stock for  the holidays...

eBay is always an anomally - as is Amazon - I've seen people charging above retail for a used core system - it boggles the mind. People will pay above retail for systems that are in stock if they would just drive to the stores...

Maybe because there is a very small percentage of people who A) want an Elite and don't already have a premium, and B) have the TVs that have HDMI inputs.  MS said the Premium was still their primary console.  Very few people will get Elites... this is to be expected.  Mainly people who want the 360 for it's media extender functionality will get the 360, and then only after IPTV is online.

I don't need HDMI, so I just got the bigger Hard Drive.  Incidentally, I gave the old one to a friend who is going to buy a core... essentially I gave him a $100 price drop on the premium.

I traded in my old 360 for an Elite. I like the shiny black color. :P  The store where I got it from only had two; I got one and another guy traded in his PS3 for one.  I will be interesteed in see how the sales turn out.

It's not shiny, it's almost a very dull matte black.

That's pretty much what I was thinking.

I never expected it to sell as if it was a brand new launch, nor did MS or retailers treat it as such.

This is true, but it looks oh so weet in the living room. :D

This is true, not nearly as shiny as the PS3.  Shiny was a bad term to use, but it looks oh so sweet. :D

I just took a trip around to all my local stores that sell video games. After a trip at 1:30pm to Target, Walmart, Best Buy, Gamestop, EB Games, and Circuit City, I found that they ALL still have Elite systems in stock.

I know some of these stores got as little as 4 units, and they all have systems in stock. Is the demand not there? I would have expected the stores with the smaller quantities to at least sell out, but it doesn't look that way.

A quick trip to Ebay shows systems selling for a premium over the retail value. Could my market just be an anomaly?

Let us know in the comments if you find Elite's on the shelves.

[QUOTE="l-_-l"]I personnally don't see how anybody thought it would sell out in the first place. It's not like it is a new console. The only people going to want it is people that don't have a 360, and the hardcore gamer that just has to have the best 360 made.. I wouldn't mind having one, but I am playing the waiting game on this gens consoles. The 360 breaks down all the time, the PS3 looks like it may flops, and the Wii could turn out to be just a fad that fades ina year or two. So I will just play PC and Nintendo DS Lite and wait and see how things play out. BUt at this time, the Elite has my attention the most with the Wii looking good for a second console for my kids (and me too).eastside49er

If I was you I would wait for the new 65nm chip to start being made for the 360, which should happen sometime this spring. I would get an Elite probably late summer, early fall.

Thanks for that extra info I didn't know about. If I decide to get a 360, I will be sure to wait on that model to release before getting one.

You sir need to get a life, badly. That or just stop responding to the cow bell one of these days.

SkyCastleDan

He didn't go himself, genius. That's from the link.

..........what the hell are you doing just pointing me out on that? There are others pointing out the same thing. Plus, if it wasn't him, then just post the link. Like I care about some stupid link when all I should have to do is read the text if it's there. Stupid thread man.

Actually, alot on here copy/paste the article. And if he was to copy/paste it and not leave a link also, then you would have all kinds of people in here screaming they want proof and calling him a lier. I see it all the time. They are really good for it in the PS3 forums.
