Xbox 360 is failing miserabily

I get my source from http://nexgenwars.com/ and I haven't seen the 360 climb above the 10mil mark for more than six months. Very disappointing for a second year system.

 While things are different for Sony and Nintendo over 6 months.  Six months ago Sony only sold little over 1mil PS3s, now it have sold a total of 3mil systems. For Nintendo, they've only sold 1mil extra units so far but let's see.

PS3 and Wii have no games worth playing NOW, there consoles are collecting dust., If I was a cow or sheep I would leave this place for about six months until they have a chance of getting a AAA game.

I think the 3DO will make a comeback and be number 1 and the Ps3 will be number 2

360 will easilly destroy PS3 sales from this summer forward, until late 2008, that is a given, PS3 has not got even one serious game to sell consoles with when 360 will get

The rest won't do anything major.

I can't say the same for Wii or PS3 games. I think Wii sales will continue to improve when Wii music/health pack etc are out. I think PS3 sales will jump very high with Killzone (yeah), Final Fantasy XIII, MGSIV, GT5, and GTAIV.

Those are my predictions though and while I pretty sure I'm going to be right there is always the chance that I won't be. 

For gamers, the 360 is hardly failing miserably.

That is an incredible package of games this year. If Triple AAA development teams are still willing to deliver exclusively to the 360, "miserably" is not a word that should be used just quite yet.

Although I still think Nintendo's own impressive first party offerings will propel the Wii to first by the end of 2007. Good time to be a gamer.

Are you new to gaming or something? Because this isn't a debate. It's a fact. The gaming industry goes into a huge decline every single summer. The vast majority of games and consoles are bought in the fall, at christmas, and just after christmas. Why do you think the ps3, xbox, ps2, xbox 360, wii... everything all launch between the fall and march? That's when they sell.

It's a fact. Mass Effect was delayed because they're holding out 'til the fall and the christmas season to release it. And with the last comment, you're actually correct. All of those games will be launching in the fall-winter season.

Lotta new ip's there with no way to know if they are any good they could flop like blue dragon did in japan.

Non-casual? That explains the millions of sales, right? :| And none of them have credibility you say; every single one is a AAA game. Right now the PS3 has no AAA games save the year old xbox 360 port. Nice. The games he mentioned such as rainbow six and gears of war were both AAA-scoring games in reviews. They kick ass. As for Forza 2, the original was AAA. And C&C3 on the PC was AAA too. I cant see the 360 version being drastically worse.

So, rather than bash games - try to come up with something you're playing now which beats them. Because the simple fact is there isn't anything, is there?

Your bang on the money.  None of those games for 360 are proven & are not bound to attract the much needed casual fanbase.     Lemmings keep mentioning games like Mass Effect,  Alan Wake, & all these other unheard of, un proven potential flops.      I say potential flops, as the chances of them being a flop over a success is far outweighed towards the flop factor.      

The difference being that games like mario, zelda, pokemon, pikimon, ratchet, jak, mgs & others are sure fire proven hits.    You could counter this with "look at sega with sonic",  but we all know nintendo & sony are no sega's.

Wii is unpredicatble, its games are all utter garbage, but sells betterthan anything, so i can't comment on Wii

Frankly my opinion is that ALL those games i mensioned, each one or combined at least will help move a HUGE number of consoles worldwide, on the other hand i doubt Killzone would move any PS3, and FF13, MGS4 are WAY ahead, in late 2008 or 2009, so i would count them out

So, what is really left is GT5, that can move some PS3, but not that much, and i do not know if it is a 2007 title as well, hell not even GTA is certain for 2007, those games you mension for PS3 could be middle to late 2008

I dont think you're quite right. If you look at GTAIV, for example. I dont think that'll do anything to PS3 sales at all. It comes out on the 360 at the same time, so those who already own a 360 will get it on that, and those who own a PS3 will get it for that. Simple. But those who dont own either and want to play GTAIV (the casual gamers) will undoubtedly go for the 360, as they get the same game for less money.

As for Final Fantasy and MGS4, it's a common misconception amongst sony fans at how popular these games are. Final Fantasy will undoubtedly sell well when it comes out - but that wont be for a good while. As for metal gear solid, metal gear solid 3 didn't sell very well at all. It was an awesome, awesome game, but metal gear solid is by no means a system seller at all.

Killzone did sell very well, but it wasn't very good. I think that may have an affect on the number of people buying the next one. And if it goes up against Halo 3 this winter, i really dont think it'll stand a chance.

Oh, I'm very confident in saying Blue Dragon and Lost Odyssey won't do anything major in sales (They both look like great RPGs). Mass Effect will do well in sales but I doubt it will push system sales, same story with Bioshock. Same story with Alan Wake. Forza will grow this gen. I expect Forza 3 will do very well in sales.

Yeah, KZ will do extremely well in sales no doubt. The hype + Sony's marketing will do that. And please don't think I'm saying the 360 games will suck, because I'm not (I'm actually getting a 360 eventually). I just don't think any 360 game besides Halo 3 and GTAIV will push systems.

I think GTAIV will probably push PS3 sales, but obviously not as much as 360 sales due to price. FF and MGS are very popular series. MGS2 was a big system seller (6 mil from memory). MGS3 didn't get nearly as much advertising or hype and still managed to sell 4 million. 

And yeah, agreed, Halo 3 will destroy KZ in sales, but I think KZ will do very well in sales. I think it's just there by Sony to soften Halo's effect in the market.

As for those that suggest 360 games are ... unproven, so are most of PS3 ones too

Bioshock is WELL KNOWN as developed by the people that made system shock

Mass Effect is hardly unknown as those developers gave the well known Kotor games

Cry On, Lost oDyssey and Blue Dragon from the father of FF7, are the best known ever, especially in Japan, both in the famitsu top games

Infinite Undisocvery is from Star Ocean tea, so will be big in japan

Splinter Cell 5 is not "unknown" either AT ALL

Too Human is well known by now, and from well known developers

So, which games remain unknown? Two Worlds, Elveon, Circle of Doom, Precursors, Sacred 2, Theseis, Overlord are indeed not well known but there is always a first time for EVERYTHING, BTW Two Wolrds got its first review, with a huge 9.3 !!!!!!! Can't wait to get my hands on this game !!! I will be role playing when PS3 gamers will be shooting fireballs from dragons, and rushing through heavely Sword before the "you die in xxx seconds" timer expire

To me (regardless of Gs scores) Resistance is a more fun game than Gears both on & offline...While on the subject, even though Motorstorm flopped on Gs, I think it kicked the living crap out of PGR for a launch racer, in ragrds to both fun & originality. All opinion based of course, but my opinion is all that determines my purchases. And my 360 got sold after I played these PS3 games. Because my money is spent on what I enjoy, not what a buncha online nerds tell me is kool.

I know PS3 will have the best lineup of games for my taste, as the mojority of my favourite developers are still loyal to the sony brand or are 1st party. So on that note, take your simple facts & shove them up your simple ass, as even PS2 is getting higher scoring games than 360 with okami, GOW2 & others. Whereas MS abondoned xbox like it was a venereal disease.

Nexgenwars once shaved off 800,000 units on the Wii figures. That's how wrong they get it.

As for KZ...I agree it'd sell much better without Halo as competition but I really think Sony wants to cut Halo's impact. I'm guessing Sony is hoping KZ + GTAIV + HS + Uncharted + Lair will cut Halo 3 + GTAIV + Bioshock + Mass Effect's impact. 

I don't think consumers will ignore GT5, MGSIV and FFXIII next year, especially since 360 has nothing major to compete with them (I don't think we can expect Halo 4 till 2009), and that's why I think PS3 will overtake 360.

I think Sony would be much better off simply delaying killzone, allowing more time to make it better, then release it about six months after halo 3. I think it'd sell much better then because being realistic, i doubt a single person would stand in a game store looking at a ps3 with killzone and an xbox 360 with halo 3 and choose kilzone. If it came down to just those two games.

Well, PS2 is still going quite strong so I suppose they're in no rush.

HS and Lair are not system sellers, and look really bad now, KZ2 i doubt is even in the making, have you seen one pic of it ??? Uncaharted is nioce, but only one game and GTA is also on 360 with more content too !!!

So PS3 essesntially has not one game to push it ahead at all, when clearly Halo 3 and Mass Effect will ahve a huge impact on 360 sales, as to a lesser extend Lost odysseyand Bioshock will too

Also if you think next year FF13 and MGS4 can possibly compare with Fable 2, Gears 2, Mass Effect 2, Cry On, Infinite Undiscovery, Sacred 2, Alan Wake, Theseis,2ond Bioware excluisve RPG, Too Human etc etc combined,then you are dillusional

I get my source from http://nexgenwars.com/ and I haven't seen the 360 climb above the 10mil mark for more than six months. Very disappointing for a second year system.

 

 While things are different for Sony and Nintendo over 6 months.  Six months ago Sony only sold little over 1mil PS3s, now it have sold a total of 3mil systems. For Nintendo, they've only sold 1mil extra units so far but let's see.

Thanks for telling me what a failure the 360 is, I was having so much time playing mine that I forgot to check nextgenwars to find out what a failure it is.  Word of advice, if your console is so much fun to play, then why are you hanging out in system wars bashing other consoles?

Sorry champ, but resistance sales dissagree. You were the idiot who demanded I come up with some decent PS3 games...And I did.   And if you bothered to visit other sites on the big, world wide web, you'd learn that Resistance scored triple a on more than 1 site (including the superior ign).  

as for your trillions of GeOW sales to casuals, your dead wrong...99% of 360 owners are hardcore console gamers that crossed over from the xbox, so that is the base that purchased GeOW mainly.   The casual adoption rate of 360's & PS3's is very, very low at present.   They rely on hardcore gamers to buy the machine at first for the premium asking price (cause they know we will), then as price goes way down, casuals join the game.    

You see I admitted that mine was an opinion, wheras you have tried to state as a fact that every review of the aforementioned Resistance & Motorstorm have them as total flops.   

You fail to recognise that scores on websites determine jackchit.  Thats why 50cent bulletproof sold millions.  In my opinion a crap game, but millions loved & bought it.   

So Sony's 2 big fpt may not have lived up to your fanboy goggle stricken vision.....But to me & millions of others, these games were awesome launch titles & are testament that we are only gonna get infinately better games, given time.  

I also don't remember GeOW being a launch title for 360, not even close actually.   I'm sure PS3 games after over 1 yr of the consoles release will exeed this game graphically without breaking a sweat.
