Yeah, I was thinking about this when I re-newed my XBL gold. After 5-6 years of playing online, and that's what I estimate I'll use, it's about the same price. The topic title is wrong, but your post is right.

From the perspective of an online user, yes. But most console owners don't use online, so while the argument may be applicable to us, it isn't to most others.
people consider it. that doesnt matter. over time u make more money so spending more over a longer period of time is easier on people's wallets rather than taking a massive blow to their morgage all at once.

If you rephrase your topic to say "xbox 360 can be MORE expensive than PS3" then you would be right, but I'm sorry to say that you are technically wrong. Don't fret though you aren't the first to mix "can" and "is". It's a common mistake.

"Lots" can be argued. IMO the only good exclusive 360 game that is out is Gears of War. The only good exclusive PS3 game out IMO is Resistance. The only good forthcoming exclusive Xbox 360 games IMO are Halo 3, Gears of War 2, and Fable 2 (IDK if its coming to PC). The only good forthcoming exclusive PS3 games IMO are Final Fantasy XIII, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Meta Gear Solid 4, Lair, Heavenly Sword, God of War III, LittleBigPlanet, and PS Home. yeah and if you play online (which online cost is what most cows keep attacking so they MUST play online if they care so much) then you most likley play more than 14 hours a week.

i would rather pay the $600. think about it. if u had the money would u rather pay ur house off as soon as u get it or have a mortgage u pay interest on? the first way has u paying more at one time, but in the long run u pay less.

My 360 is way more then my ps3. ps3 = $600. xbox 360 = live ($50) + rechargeable batteries/charger ($30) + 360 ($400 w/ 20 GB hd only) + hd-dvd ($200) + wireless ($100) = $780. 360 is insanely expensive for a fully loaded console for a fully loaded set-up.
yes this has brought up a thousand times before, we know that xbox live costs $50 a year but I would personally spend $600 over 4 years than dish out $600 on day one.

 That is very true, i wish i had a PS3 only, so after my initial $600 investment i'd never have to spend another penny on silly things like games and stuff, seeing as there's barely any for the system.
 Unlike my 360, which has forced me to buy and extra 23 excellent games + Xbox live so i could enjoy those great games with friends online.

PS3 comes with RCA cables. You have to get your own 100$ HDMI cables. Thats two years of xbox live. On the flipside, 360 doesent even support HDMI. So either way it has its cons.

Srry, forgot to mention canadian dollars. wal mart ones are 60$ cdn. and Ive seen some at best buy up to 200$ cdn. I think the monster cables are dumb because its not an analog signal. you wont lose quality with the cheap cables. Its digital! 10$ cables would be sweet enough.
