Xbox 360 not designed for MMO

I thought it was foolishness on part of Square Enix by making Final Fantasy XIV Online a PS3 exclusive, since they are third party, plus they have worked with Microsoft, not to mention their fanbase goes well beyond Ps3.

a MMORPG for 360 was under development called Marvel Universe Online, but that game was canceled for undisclosed reasons. On the other DC Universe Online MMORPG for PS3 is on Alpha stage right now.

Final Fantasy XI MMORPG which came out on Xbox 360 is a dated game released on PC way back in 2002, so its clearly not the next generation MMORPG game, so I wont count this one.

you deliberately didn't mention those two games because you know they are dated, I already addressed this argument

Phantasy Star Online and Final Fantasy XI are both dated games orginally come out on PC and PS2 back in 2001 and 2002

I will not count these games as the next generation MMO games

1.FF14 is not ps3 exclusive its comming to pc.
2.FF11, Phantasy Star Universe both on 360 i do believe.
3. one does not have to have gold to play mmo's.

Same thing then if you are playing an MMO on the PC as well. You already paid for Live but now you are paying for another game. Playing the whole "what if" thing doesn't really seem to work out too well does it? The fact of the matter is if you don't want to pay for Live (no one is twisting your arm here) then you can play these games on the 360 with a silver account that is free, so why make a fuss about it?

I still get a kick when people whine about the fees involved with Xbox Live, its like $40 a year now plus you get an extra month for free, if you are going to pitch a fit because you are paying for that AND an MMORPG fee then you probably need to find a cheaper hobby or get a better job.

this thread is just complete **** MMO's are not recource intenseive in the least bit by comparsion to other generes.

Neither console is designed for MMO's....its becoming clearer and clearer.

The only thing that gives the PS3 a light edge in this department is SOE (who frankly havent made a good game in many years) while MS does not own a dedicaded MMO developer.

What hidden PS3 power are you talking about? I really am starting to wonder why people think a few pretty games and some more ambitious projects all of a sudden make the PS3's hardware and abilities increase to levels far beyond the 360? Meh, if games like LP2 can look as good if not better than most games out and the 360 has MMORPGs already what exactly are we arguing about.

Aren't we getting just a little bit carried away? Nothing has come out of the PS3 as of right now that the 360 couldn't do comparably. There is no point in pulling quotes from publishers or devs either since they will be bias for the system they are deving for (obviously). I think you are giving the console just a little too much credit.
