I think it's best to get a job, save your money and get both :) Worked for me :P

So is all the hardware inside all Xbox 360's is the same right. The arcade down to the elite all have Falcon motherboards, or am I mistaken? And is there that much difference in terms of noise with these new motherboards?snverhallenyeah the newer consoles compared to the launch consoles are much quieter. The only difference is a harddrive.

Don't buy into that "ps3 is future" garbage, it's just lies.
PS3 if you enjoy movies and would like Blu-Ray ones and gaming. If you don;t have a HDTV or no interest in films/blu ray go with the 360, it has the superior games libary.
lundy86_4
Superior games library is a point of opinion. I happen to like the PS3 exclusives library more than 360.
Same here, i prefare PS3... so the 'superior games library' is subjective and not a fact depending on each individual's taste in games..
also i dont understand why people say you NEED an HDTV for PS3 while make it look like for 360 an SDTV is fine.. However when these same people compare shots / vids to show how 360 games look good they always utilise shots which are clearly taken from the game running on an HDTV.. so again to get the best visual output for both consoles you definately need an HDTV (not just for PS3)..
Finally I think everyone should know that asking which console to get in a SW forum is the WORST idea... :)
So I know this is discussed endlessly but I'm so stuck. Every time I think I want to get a 360 I see something that makes me want to get a PS3 and vice versa. So in terms of what is important for me is good FPS games, good sport games like FIFA, and good online multiplayer, and good multiplayer natively. Why I'm unsure is because I always here that the PS3 is better for the future, and that the 360 is just better or the same as the PS3 now and I really don't wanna give out money for a 360 when people are saying that is not as in the future. Another issue is the exclusives. Like I said I like FPS (I don't think exclusivity is such a big problem with sports titles), and I love Halo but then again the PS3 has Killzone 2 and MGS4. And 360 also has GOW. And of course price, the 360 is obviously cheaper without all the (necessary?) accesories, but with those accesories your getting up to a PS3 price anyway. I don't really need a lot of multimedia capabilities, I just want to use it solely for gaming, maybe a movie here and there but I wouldn't be using it as my Entertainment hub, or I don't think anyway. So as you can see I'm a bit stuck. On a side note, I visited Guerilla Studios in Amsterdam the other day just for fun, here's a pic - http://s5.tinypic.com/33ol8p0.jpg Any help would be highly appreciated, and try and keep as much of a neutral view as possible please.snverhallenHonestly? The best advice is to buy the console all of your friends own. If they all own a PS3, buy that. Ditto for 360. Unless you already know what you want, that's probably the best criterion to base your decision on, IMHO.
Oh god.... I think I've changed my mind again, I think I'm gonna get a PS3. It's weird how hard this type of shi* is to decide. 2nd hand, but that's OK with PS3's or not. Basically my reason for changing my mind is I like the exclusives better. I will miss the Halo series dearly but I can live with KZ2, MGS4 and Resistance. Plus all the people I know are on PS3... seems PS is much more pop. in Europe. But why the hell did Sony stop building the flash readers in the PS, I know they did at 1 point but all the PS3's in production now don't include it...snverhallenDon't worry about the flash card readers. One nice thing about PS3 is that it pretty much recognizes any industry standard PC or USB accessories. If you want a flash card reader you can get a USB one. I have a 500gb USB drive attached to my PS3 for all my music, photos, etc.. I also use it to back up my save files.
[QUOTE="stayhigh1"][QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"]Ah, the daily "which console should I buy?" thread. A little later than usual. Anyway, you should wait a little while longer because there may be a PS3 price cut soon. Since you don't want to use any of the multimedia stuff, $400 may be a little much. Or you could just get a 360 now and 1 year of XBL for as little as $250.Floppy_Jimcheap isnt always better.. I don't think the 360 is better, just saying it's more affordable. Buy cheap, buy twice, as my Grandad always says.
1 question over the PlayStation Network account. I lived in Canada, and that's currently where all my credit cards are "based", but I now live in the Netherlands. I'd rather have it set for Canada (hence English which I prefer as well) than have it set for Netherlands. Is this a big deal that I live in the Netherlands but it's set for Canada, if I were to set it up that way?snverhallenYou can set up PSN accounts for different regions if you want to, but I'm not sure how that effects your credit cards.
Do not get the ps3!
its a horrible, horrible console,
the console games are horrible!
exclusives are pathetic! R2 holds 8 PLAYERS, 8! while gears2 holds 60! i mean 8 players = a desert
also graphics wise, its pathetic, KZ2 was supposed to be PS3's killer title, but its not, the graphics look like ps1 games and the online is laggy as hell
plus u must pay for online AND you must deal with the horrible failure rate!
ALSO Xbox live has a great feature where u can share downloadable games with your freinds FOR FREE!!
and HAHA! PS3 has no games coming this year, 360 HAS DOZENS!
AND! 360 uses the new advanced GREEN RAY! while pathetic ps3 uses DVD, LMAO MGS4 USES 10 disks, there nothing without green ray
SO PLEAZE
DO NOT GET A PS3 PLZ PLZ DONT!!!
Hi again, Thank you for all your replies. I've decided on the 360, I like LIVE better and the games. So thanks again for your help! However one more little hitch, which 360 model to buy. Like I said, I'm not a hardcore gamer, and I have no clue how much HD space is needed or recommended. I am choosing to buy a 2nd hand Xbox of some sort, for example a 360 with 20 GB HD 2 controllers and 12 games (Halo Wars, Halo 3, Bioshock, Need for Speed Carbon, PGR 3, Call of Duty etc.) all for 250 euro. Or a 60 GB 360 with 5 games (grand theft auto IV , burnout paradise , C&C tiberium wars , forza 2, prince of persia) for 180 euro. What do you all think?snverhallen
I am sorry but that is a big mistake.
Oh well people learn from their mistakes.

It boils down to what games have the biggest pull for you, but I doubt any game is going to touch Halo 3's multiplayer for a long time.
I own both and I can honestly say Xbox all the way. PS3 has better graphics, bluray and built far better, but I prefer everything else bout the 360. It's cheaper, has more and better games IMO, onlines WAY better (altho u pay for it) and it looks better (particuarlly modded). I am on my 2nd 360 (first one broke) and its brill

A bit off your question but Euro and NA Blu-Ray Disc's are the same region so it wont matter where you buy a PS3 or PS3 games, but on the other hand Euro and NA DVD's are different regions so you would be able to play Canadian 360 games on a Dutch 360 or the other way around.
Don't buy into that "ps3 is future" garbage, it's just lies.

lol at superior games library, halo an gears is it really, kz2, uncharted, warhawk, resistance, motorstorm an (of course) ratchet and clank is better in my eyesThe 360 honestly has the better game library, hands down. Particularly if you enjoy shooters. I wouldn't buy too much into the future-proof argument really, it's a belief fabricated and maintained by the system wars community and doesn't really hold any water. The 360 is a great system, and lag is FAR more prevalent on PSN than it is on the 360.creeping-deth87What's your PSN tag please. This is not true. As someone who owns a PS360 and actually stopped using Live awhile back, it's not even close. I have almost never lagged on any game on the PS3 (currently playing Killzone 2). I have lagged on almost every game I've ever played on Live. Take that for what it's worth.
For AAA shooters: Ps3 has killzone 2 & Resistance 2, 360 has Halo 3 &Perfect Dark Zero.
As for sport games, most are multiplat but PS3 has MLB 09: The Show (AAA)
As for online, the PS3 has less laag and is free, but the 360 has better community, but cots 50$ a year.
SeanDiff
So, 360 does not have Gears 1-2 ?
