Have you seen the latest adverts for 360 in UK, they have pulled out the family gaming card LOL oh and its now only £129.99 (less than the wii). ok so its achieved 214% plus sales but only because it got desperate.

firstly if i,m a lemming why am i sticking up for LBP on another thread, i'm just saying that you can't just assume the 360 is only selling cos of the price drop, i know quite a few people who have just bought a 360 for the impending release of fable 2 and if you look at sale trends the 360 sales have increased every holiday period since it was released mainly cos MS releases most of it's exclusives during the holiday season, if i was running sony i would have delayed the release of mgs 4 till the holiday season cos it would have shifted more ps3's cos here in blighty people blow loads of cash at christmasdelta3074

considering the holiday season is not here yet and From what we have seen...Price drop....boom sales increase in europe and 28k in japan. jumping from 1k to 28k has nothing to do with change in demand. Price created a new demand. To think its crazy for some one to say its because the price drop is denial. Do u honestly think 360 would double sales this early without a price drop?

at this point in its life, its most likely the price drop. Because it wasn't then why did they drop the price. They didn't drop it because they love the consumers. They drop it because demand wasn't high enough. Since you want to use probabilities you also use microeconomics since they are business.

Comparing this price drop to earlier ones it's pretty obvious that something else helped to drive x360 sales in Japan this time, namely good software. It won't set the world on fire, but it will help x360 to continue get exclusives from japanese developers like Namco if their software sell reasonably well on x360 in Japan.

To be honest I don't really care about the sales figures

What I do care about is that the xbox 360 is at an amazing price at the moment! Well done MS is what I say!!!

PS2 did not sell so good to start with but after they lowered the price it really took off like a rocket , Wii was cheap from the beginning and look at the sales .

The 360 launched early , had a whole year to itself , waited very long for a price drop , just released its latest 65 NM chip set revision to cut cost that brings them in the position to sell it cheap and still make a profit .

Sony can not afford a price drop because they are already losing money at the current price and shareholders would kill them .

Obvious conclusion :

Sony is in real trouble and can do nothing about it .

Add a cost of peripherals and must by warranty that you have to buy to actually enjoy Xbox360 and you will very quickly understand how 80GB 399$ PS3 is the best value.

sony is indeed in trouble taking the UK for example :

Wii - £179.99

Xbox - £164.99 for premium (129.99 for arcade)

PS3 - £299.99 (309.99 with a game)

hell of a difference quite like the fact that it runs blu-ray films but not everyone has hdtv to take advantage of that.

not to say the ps3 is a bad console mind but if not a pricedrop they got to get some idea to counteract and quick or they will be left behind
