It's only 199 and it has 4gb storage. I personally have a large HDD on my 360 but I don't really download dlc or store music or videos or do installs. I just play games.

I was actually planning on getting one. the 4GB but then decided not to seeing how many games PS3 is getting from exclusives to multiplats not to mention some of the games got huge limited editions. i'd rather save up for the games. maybe when its $49 :P

If you only care about games, then wouldn't all consoles be perfect in some way?

I'm sticking with my Elite for the next while, as it's been awesome. The new S model looks sweet though.

The hard drive space is useful if you install the games on the 360 so the load times are shorter. That's really the only reason I sprung for the 250gb version. That and Gamestop was doing a sweet trade-in deal for the old 360's.

I can understand that then. 360 offers a lot of great games for the $200 mark. Still the lack of a HDD really hurts it for myself. I'd much rather pay the extra.

imo, the 360 is at its best when it's the only system you have, due to its vast selection of multiplats. but if you start getting more systems, the 360 starts losing a lot of its value

The only reason why 4Gb of HDD space could be considered as small is if you want to install full games on it. With the possibility of using USB drives to store data you can keep all the data you are not using right now on them. While this is true, I wouldn't be able to live witouth my 20Gb since I have so many arcades games to I play, and no internet connection to redownload them easily.

4 GB is just fine. I never used more than 4 GB until they started letting you install your games. It's enough for game saves, some DLC, and a couple XBLA games.

I'm doing just fine on my Arcade 256 (can't remeber precise) mb one :)

Depends on what your gonna use it as, and as an entry into HD gaming its a perfect choice. A really good move on MS's part.

Edit - Oh and I did play online back when they gave me 3 months free. :) (They just replace the file for the dashboard and stuff, so it takes no space ) Sad they raiased the price on LIVE.

well i had a 360 and i must say the PS3 is the same thing except the PS3 has exclusives that matter (other then halo) and a bluray player. so in my mind the PS3 is the system to have.

The DS Lite is $140 and has a huge library of all different genres. XBOX mainly has FPSs and Racing games. Get a DS for a large choice of games.

I can't beleive I'm going to buy a console for only 1 game, and 1 game only. That game is Gears of War 3.

I had a 360 before (as you can see in my sig), but likemost 360's mine broke 4 times and Microsoft stopped fixing it for free. I now have had a PS3 Slim for 1 year and it still sounds exactly like the day I bought it

4 gb storage isn't enough for any game this generation, even if its just for games.... and if you are gamer don't you get DLC, Demo, and XBLA games? The TC logic doesn't make sense

I've played about 10 games and can probably play 10 more and I don't even have 4 gigs. (I have the 2nd version arcade models) It makes sense to me.

Really? I don't use a lot of space, but its certainly more than 4 gb. How many XBLA games do you have? DLC takes up a decent amount too. I do have a couple games installed, but If I deleted them I would still be well over the mark.

Again, it depends on what your using it for. I use mine for exclusives and some multiplats. Sometimes I don't have access to my PS3, so I use my 360. Especailly when I go on trips or want to play some COD or Halo. You don't need to dl demos or xbla games. The TC said games, not demos, xbla games, or dlc. 4 gbs is perfect and I wish I had waited that year before buying my arcade model

It would be plenty for me if I didn't install my games. Just delete the DLC you're not playing at the moment or something if it's a problem.

Don't forget you can use USB flash drives now too. I formatted half my cheap 16 GB flash drive for 360 use, and kept the rest for regular use.

Yes. It scans the flashdrive to see if it meets the "performance requirements" to work properly (their attempt to get you to buy their name brand flashdrives I'm sure). Don't worry about that. Mine is a cheap POS, and it works just fine even though it doesn't meet the performance requirements.

But that isn't the point of this thread is it? The point is that 4 gb console isn't enough for people who only care about games, you'd normally have to get more space. but yeah a 16 gb flash would suffice, at least for me.

$199 is not worth it for only 4GB. If there is a repeat of last Christmas's deals on the Arcade then it's probably worth it, but only as a 2nd system if you already have a PS3/Wii/XBOX. $199 has basically been the price of the arcade forever, and the fact that it's a "slim" does;t make the deal any better.

Last holidays it was pretty common to see them $149 or at least $199 with a $50 gift card thrown in. Heck wal-mart even had a deal where it was $199 with a $100 gift card, and unlike most black friday deals this one lasted a few days before selling out. If there's anything like that on the 4GB I'll probably finally go ahead and pick one up.

I like to install games, and so I go for the model with the HDD. I have the Halo Reach Limited Edition console preordered at Gamestop. I can't wait for this Monday night :)

[QUOTE="Diviniuz"] or if you want to experience quality titles without having to buy a PCDiviniuz

You can have quality games on the Ds as well :|

I didn't say there wasn't any quality titles anywhere else.... I just said if you want to experience quality titles on a budget, 360 is a great console. I didn't say 360 was the only great way to experience quality titles...

You can still experience great titles that don't cost $50-$60 bucks. You can get a DS Lite and buy quality titles for half that price.
