TC, you just can't ask "who's winning" without stating some kind of categories because the 360 wins in some, and the ps3 win in others.

2008-2012 = PS3 wins.

The 360 was a better gaming system until MGS4 came out, and then the PS3 exclusives came rolling in while 360 got fewer and fewer each year. On top of that PS3 got a lot of new updates etc..

As a multi media machine the PS3 has ALWAYS been superior. Right out of the box from day one. And that's because of the blu-ray player. People who invest $10K or even $100K in a home cinema will almost 100% of the time have a PS3 in there as well. Check high end AV enthusiast forums, etc.

That + MGS4 destroys the entire 360 library alone (lemme know when you get a 10 guys)

Not going to mention RROD and the horrible failure rates.

In terms of what company is making the most money, Microsoft by far. In terms of exclusive content and content directed more towards core gaming, the Playstation 3. As for sales they are close enough to not really make that much of a difference.

In terms of sales, what company is making the most money and having the most success I'd say the 360 is winning, but as a gamer I feel the PS3 is.

360 is still winning and will most likelly end up winning this gen with the highest sales and biggest library. Still, no one can deny that PS3 has been doing alot better this year.

The concept of a "micro-discussion" - in other words a thread comparing selected systems exclusively - has been thoroughly discussed, and repeatedly upheld by GS staff. Contrary to your opinion, we don't have to include every current system in every thread, regardless of what you want...

I'll go with PS3. I like Blu ray :D. I use both consoles more for their media features than anything, so Blu ray really tips it for me.

I would say the PS3 so far. Despite the godawful launch, games such as Demon's Souls and MGS4 are enough proof that Sony redeemed themselves.

Exactly what I was going to say but more like 2009-Present PS3 wins since PS3 games started rolling at late 2008.

Sony got their ass kicked this gen, they lost way too much market share. MS won this battle; blind fanboys will say otherwise.

Xbox 360 - Hardcore (Most exclusives feature guns, has mostly M-rated games)

PS3 - Medium (Many M-rated gams, but E/T-rated exclusives)

Wii - Casual (Mostly E rated games)

PS3. Microsoft has kicked themselves with the release of Kinect. It is a double edged sword, really. Sure the thing is selling, but it will hurt them going into next gen. I'd argue that the ps3 is actually in more homes when you take the RROD fiasco into account. Sony is in a really good place at the moment. The Vita is recieving very positive press which will only help the ps3, as long as the next Playstation home console. Sony has been getting respect from gamers with their constant stream of high quality exclusive games.

Sold my 360 for a PS3. I guess you could say I needed something new. I've come to the conclusion that the PS3 is the better console. It does everything the xbox 360 can, but a bit more. 360 has some good exclusives. The only one I miss is Gears of War. Other then that, PS3 exclusives are better then the 360. The only reason there are more sales for the 360 is because kids demand it more. Their friends have it. Their friends' friends have it. Etc.

...again as you mentioned it's doing this without even taking into consideration the 360 exclusives both for the casual gamer and core gamer. Whether it's a retail game, Xbox Live Arcade game, or Kinect game doesn't matter because a game... well... is a game lol.

I mean lets be real here for a minute. When you look at the 360 catalogue of games there is something for everyone and the bottom line is the 360 is doing a better job right now than the ps3 as far as raising the eyebrows of that soccer mom/casual gamer that walks in the 360 section at stores.

...by the way. You know what MS's biggest exclusive is? Xbox Live. Which in itself adds to the gaming experience when someone turns on his or her 360. Yeah I know some ps3 owners will say that cross game voice chat is no biggie but it's just little things like this that adds to the fun and party features on Xbox Live.
