Xbox 360 will not find a Quantic Dream title on their system anytime soon

David Cage has decided to send Sony a late Valentine, pouring on the love for the publisher that paved the way for Heavy Rain to be made possible. Cage goes in to detail, calling the PlayStation 3 the best in the world and Sony's internal studios leaders in the industry.

Speaking to CVG, Cage went on to explain why the Xbox 360 will not find a Quantic Dream title on their system anytime soon.

We have an exclusive relationship with Sony. The relationship on Heavy Rain has been fantastic. They trusted us from day one, supported us all the way through. It was really a very risky project [for them] and they never let us down.

Being a part of a company with what are probably the best studios in the world is something really pleasant for us. We're happy to continue this relationship and create content for the PlayStation brand. But they fund our projects, so we're staying exclusive to PlayStation.

I am very loyal in general – or I try to be. I know that trusting me is always a big risk and when people do, I feel like I owe them something. It's not just because I want to thank them, though. We have a relationship that works, we're excited by the platform – we think it's the best platform out there. We're glad to continue to work this way.

Can't you just feel the love in the room? Cage also plans to create an emotional war game that borrows elements from such movies as Platoon and Apocalypse Now.

Not saying anything, but Sony DID buy the rights of Heavy Rain. Contrary to the notion that Sony never "buys" games like MS does.

Is quantic dream first party? or are they a third party dev. I know that being funded by sony, it could consider them a second party (according to the definition, not sure4 if correct)

It's not like he slammed the 360 in his interview. He is satisfied with his publisher which is what most dev companies would say.

obviously. Sony was the publisher, and therefore dictated which platforms the game wasn't and was released for.

and i apologize for not being able to answer your question effectively, as i rarely keep a record of the going-ons on this board. i can, however, give you a probable amount of how many have flopped on Xbox 360:

zero. and how do i know this with such undying uncertainty? because no exclusives have been released for it to have possibly even flopped once.

So he stated that he was pleased with Sony, I thought it was common knowledge that they treat their exclusive devs very well.

I'll save my MS rant for another time and just state that they have another attitude towards risk.

frankly, at this point, anything would help the lackluster lineup for the Xbox 360 this year. a product from Quantic Dream would have greatly boasted it.

a new generic Gears and boring Forza (want a real racing game? play Split Second) is too much of the norm for my liking. new IPs or no dice.

You would be right if the 360 was struggling to get games. You just assume people only play exclusives which is completely wrong. Then if there is a good exclusive franchise on the 360, you call it bad or boring to try to discredit the 360's library.

Pretty sad, but hey if you only own one console or product, you will feel the need to make sure you made the right purchase.
