LOL.........Im a 360 fanboy. I rage on the 360 and PS3 equally. I own both so I don't have to convince myself that my purchase was the right choice unlike some people in this thread.

If Heavy Rain was multiplat, no one would even know the game existed. Cows hype it like its some kind of masterpiece that is a revolution in gaming.

In my understanding, and this is free for anyone who knows better to intersect, is that 3rd and 2nd party are essentially the same thing, but in the case of 2nd party the console manufacturure owns the IP rights.

So Insomniac is 2nd party when developing Resistance, but 3rd party as soon as they start an original IP not owned by Sony. Correct?

I thought I'd read that Sony bought Quantic Dream (themselves) during the development of Heavy Rain. I guess I remember incorrectly.

Being a part of a company with what are probably the best studios in the world is something really pleasant for us. We're happy to continue this relationship and create content for the PlayStation brand. But they fund our projects, so we're staying exclusive to PlayStation.

I am very loyal in general – or I try to be. I know that trusting me is always a big risk and when people do, I feel like I owe them something. It's not just because I want to thank them, though. Actually it is you who doesnt understand how business organizations work.

Microsoft is a public company, Bill Gates is not in charge of it, he may have founded it but is not actually running it, he is not even CEO. The amount he donates to charity is not = to microsoft donating to charity, its his own money. It would be equal to you have shares in Microsoft selling them and donating the amount to charity, it would be you who made the donation not microsoft.

I thought developers couldn't be fanboys, maybe I was wrong.

I'm sure it's a relationship that works, doesn't mean he has to talk like the PS3 is his girlfriend.

It's a business arrangement, they stop funding the projects, you go else where. It's gonna feel like a messy divorce to him. "Please PS3 lets not argue in front of the little PSPs, don't worry PSPs, you can stay with me on the weekends".

I Thought Heavy Rain was freaking awesome. Its great there staying Exclusive but even if they went multiplat id still get there games.

at the end of the day most find the game to be a breathe of fresh air. amongst the generic me twos released nowadays. good for the dev. sad for the fanboys that are mad that the game is not on their system of choice. tough luck
