Maybe Microsoft's Crystal Ball got an RROD, but there was a major announcement at the Xbox 360 press conference... I'm not kidding you.

Is it just me, or does this fake-looking guy with the top button of his shirt unbuttoned sound like a gamespot poster? Example:

Where did Microsoft get this tidbit of information from? Are they assuming that all current 360's will RROD and people will have to rebuy their 360's? Did they time travel? ESP?

This is the most ridiculous statement ever made at E3, even topping 4D graphics and the cell locker. The fourth dimension is time, right? Microsoft must be claiming to have manipulated the fourth dimension in order to get this amazing bullet point, how else would they know?

Given Microsoft's current userbase lead, the drop in relative price of the 360 (and the fact that Sony claims they won't drop their price anytime soon) as well as the loss of FF13 exclusivity, there is a good argument on the probability the 360 will outsell the PS3 this generation.

The 4D comment however was just a blantantly untrue line attempting to cash in on people's understanding of extra dimensions in gaming being progress (based on the jump from 2D to 3D).

A 1D array can be visualized as a linear array of objects, a line.
A 2D array can be visualized as a linear array of 1D arrays, or an array of lines.
A 3D array can be visualized as a linear array of 2D arrays, or an array of 2D planes.

In other words, a 4D array can be visualized as an array of boxes. 4D graphics means being able to render multiple 3D screens at once, something the PC has done for a long time.

I've never read this is what Ken meant (are you assuming or do you have a link) but the reason I give it the nod for the worst comment ever is simple.

If your right, it also means that Kuturagi was bragging about something the PC had been able to do for ages. Equally destructive. Especially when the PS3 was being pushed as a supercomputer.

the ps3 is being priced drop the 80 will be 399. plus sales for the 360 aren't amazing the ps3 has been able to sell more or stay in the same range as the 360. the ff13 announcement isn't going to push the 360. for one gta 4 couldn't even do that so i doubt ff13 will.

Also 360 beating the PS3 is a positiblity. It technically has a possibility. PS3 and 4D graphics and 120FPS are not.

It doesn't need to stay in the same range, it needs to catch up and overtake the 360. It is behind.

And the price drop doesn't work in Sony's favour if Microsoft maintains a price lead. Being more expensive, it's further from the optimum price point for its sale.

Also, I don't think FF13 is going to sell 360s. However, what it will probably do is discourage people who already own a 360 from getting a PS3. The 360 being the cheaper system, many people wanting the game will opt for that version.

I'm not saying the PS3 can't sell more this generation, I'm saying at the moment it is in Microsoft's favour.

The best part was when the Square Enix boss left the stage and the MS guy was talking and about to close the show and then all of a sudden the Square Enix boss comes back to the stage and cuts off the MS guy and announces the biggest surprise of E3 2008. That's was an instantclassic.

Considering that they are both very close in sales in the US, and with the PS3 getting a boost from MGS4 in June, that's really not saying much for the 360. And with sales being better outside of the US, PS3 is definitely selling better than the 360 worldwide.

GTAIV. Formely a killer Sony IP, now cross plat...did *not* ship many more consoles. This is well known fact.

MGS. Again while succesfull has not pushed consoles much.
