[QUOTE="desktopdefender"][QUOTE="PelekotansDream"][QUOTE="monkeymonfp"]lol 360 owns, thats why you had 2 spend about half an hour writing how its crap(never read it never needed 2)

What do you have to say to this:
Then we have micro-transactions......I do not even need to talk about these. The best example of MS hurting the console industry for profit. Micro-transactions are a product of sheer greed and will not go anywhere anytime soon since they pull in so much extra cash. We are just as much at fault for buying into this garbage as they are for providing it. However, this system is truly bad for the undustry because it allows developers to ship un-finished games and charge us for the rest later, enabling them to exploit us in ways we cannot even see coming. And if devs want to release free content, they can't, MS won't let them. Geometery Wars was supposed to be free, the new maps for Gears were supposed to be free. Who knows what else was supposed to be free but MS forced them to charge us for it. The Xbox 360 has damaged the market in a way that may never be reversed. Another reason why the Xbox 360 is the worst console ever made.
TC, great stuff.
$8 for 2 maps.........US as well lol Yeah thats a rip off. That much for only 2 maps!?Haven't you seen the 2 new R6:Vegas map packs ? Free. 'nuff said.
Perhaps bigger text next time and I could be bothered to read your post.
And I nominate the Virtual Boy as the worst console of all time.
am no fan boy. just enjoy a good debate. XBL gamertag Loaded Bull. halo 3 will blow anything away. And hopefully we will get more info on Halo wars. Stick by my opinion that the PS3 is better built, and it is the games that make the 360, plus its established live network. And HD DVD already a flop, but thats cool, cos it was an additional extra for the system and doesn't effect gaming. Ya gotta be honest and admit you do worry ya 360 will turn red lights on8KAL_EL8
"am no fanboy"
The problem is, when you make huge fanboy posts, it takes about a hundred non-fanboys posts to get rid of the tag you've just given yourself.
COUNTER ARGUMENT:
First of all, I can appreciate where you're coming from on the 360. I have one, and while mine has had it's share of hiccups, it's been an enjoyable console for about a year and a half now (never had to send it in). But I'll concede that there is a problem with the machine and that many people have had serious problems. From that, I can see building a case against the 360 as the worst console of all time. There is foundation in that argument.
You make some valid points but over all, I don't see much substance in what you're saying.
Let me start with what you got right. Your stance on the Core (and lack of HDD) is spot on. This was a cost that very much outweighed the benefit. Sure, the Core probably reached a market that the Premium and Elite was unable to, thus expanding market share, but at the cost of tieing the hands of developers. This hurts the quality of games, no doubt.
The Elite argument and how this "hurts" early adopters seems unfounded. The main tech inclusion, as you pointed out, was HDMI. HDMI provides 1080p that improves the visual quality of the image on the screen for those HDTVs that are over 40inches. The reality is for all screens under 40 inches, the human eye is incapable of distinguishing between 720p and 1080p. But perhaps for the minute population that finds playing in 720 to be such a horrible experience, not having an Elite might be excruciating. For the rest of us, it's a moot point.
As far as the controller goes, this is really a personal preference thing. My preference is, that it is one of the better controllers I've ever played. Sure the D-pad isn't the greatest, but there are worse.
Micro-transactions. Something that, in a different context, has been around for a very long time. Today they are the evolution of what mission disks (@ $30) were for PC games. Get used to it. And it isn't just MS. It is everybody. Also, I'm sorry, but I don't feel I'm fueling MS's greed when I buy an arcade game or an add on to Rainbow Six Vegas. I feel I'm getting value for my 10 bucks. It is smart business and will probably evolve into macro transactions as HDDs get bigger and connections get faster.
Speaking of connections - LIVE. I use the wireless adapter on standard DSL. Hardly ever lags. When it does, it is usually because I'm playing somebody 2 thousand miles away. Serioulsy. Britain originated games are usually the only place I get lag. But LIVE isn't perfect. Good, but not flawless. While I don't mind the 49.99 for 13 months, eventually to be competitive, MS will either have to drop the fee or reduce it to next to nothing if the other two consoles offer free service. I would expect, with the revenue MS gets from LIVE that Sony and Nintendo begin charging a premium very soon.
Innovation. You need a technological background to understand how 360 and PS3 are innovative over their predecessors. And I'm talking about computing hardware. Not the inclusion of Blu-Ray or HD-DVD over DVD. While DVD is limiting, it isn't so to a degree that hurts creativity. Believe it or not it is possible to be creative with content and disk space where needed.
In the end, 360 has problems. No denying it. But worst ever? Not for the reasons you cited. If you want to talk worst let's talk Jaguar or 3DO. Atari 5600, maybe.
Damn, really? oh man! You have just put a real downer on my day dude. I respect your opinion of me so much, and it is paramount to my happiness that i get you to believe im not a fanboy. I mean, whats life all about if you're named a fanboy online by people ya never gonna meet? Personally i'd rather french kiss a skunk than change your opinion of moi. Im actually only in this forum for a general laugh. guess some peeps take it a little too seriously tho.8KAL_EL8
Or maybe you should just post logical things rather than fanboy ramblings and then people wont call you a fanboy and you wont have to make pointless posts like the one above, eh? ;)

Subcritical
This is what its all about. This is why everygamer whose Xbox 360 fails should demand a refund. Microsoft's model for gaming is to nickel and dime you to death.
This also is their intention with "Made for Windows" on the PC. They want to control all aspects and make you pay them for everything.
Someday, the FPS game you just bought will come standard with a slingshot. You'll have to pay for a pistol, pay more for a rifle, pay even more for a semi-automatic. Heck I wouldn't be suprised if someday you'd have to pay Microsoft for virtual gas to power in game vehicles.
I doubt it'll ever get that bad, although Sony had originally planned on doing something similar to that with GTHD.
yeah, really. Honestly, too true, i agree. Totally with you on that one. Whats really funny, is ya took the time to read it and you'll never get that time back. I'm not the kinda guy thats gonna call ya names, or start on ya mother or rant and rave defendingthings i dont need to defend. cos at he end of the day...........................it gets dark8KAL_EL8
"people dont need oxygen to live"
"thats completely false. never speak again."
"Oh.. well.. you must think i'm smart cause you took the time to REPLY.. zomg..."
"...that doesn't make any sense at all."
Think about it.
i only agree with the HDD and micro transaction arguments, any 360 fanbyo has to admit (i am a lemming BTW) that microsoft completely dropped the ball with the core and no HDD standard, and the microtransactions are getting redicoulsly priced, i wouldnt mind at max 200-400 points for new maps etc... but 800 when it was suppose to be free in the first place FUDGERS!#$
other than that, i disagree with everything else, the bumbers have never gaven me problems, and unless your playing a fighting game... the d-pad is good for everything else...
the 1080p argument is kinda bad because they are eventually releasing a HDMI adapter for the orgininal 360's and 720p doesnt look bad at all... IMO 1080p is really pointless and takes way too much power that can be use for other things...
and what game for the 360 has used more than 7 GB on a dual layered DVD for the 360... they are hardly packed to the brim... and we havent seen anything compression cant handle...
but yeah HDD and mircro transactions i do agree with.
never had a problem with mine, and neither has any of my friends, Im sure there are some problems, but its not as rapant as u think, alot of fanboys out there like to spread rumors so whatever believe what u want
oh and by the way, my wife has dropped mine twice while cleaning the entertainment center, and it still runs fine, an no scratched discs
i have played my roomates 360 a lot and i enjoy it. the biggest problem that i have with it is that it breaks. i personally have never had a console break on me just from just using it. gamespots own poll on the front page says that about 30 have had it break at least once. and even assuming that half of these are ps3 fanboys just voting to make it look worse, thats still over 15 percent of these 360s that have broken from simply being used. that just screams to me a poorly made console. if i am going to pay 400 dollars for something it better work without problems. i will probably end up getting a 360 but not until its proven that the manufactoring issue has been taken care ofKansrite\
Exactly. The thing that gets to me. Is MS doing this on purpose? Its been nearly 2 years and their still having this high failure rate of 360s. Are they ever going to fix the problem?
Based on my gaming experiences, the Xbox 360 has been one of the best consoles of all time. In my opinion, it's up there with the SNES and N64.project343
Same here.I like it as much as my Snes,Really the x360 is the winner of this Generation. It has games for everyone,The headset screws part of the online but if you mute everyone is just pure goodness.
Also the xlive DLG are awesome POP:C is the best Down-able game Ever.
WOW!!! I nominate the original post for biggest waste of keystrokes ever on System Wars!
360....arguably the best console of this gen, but to each their own
Worst console of all time? Worse than the Atari Jaguar? Worse than the Sega Saturn? Worse than the 3DO....well, that's about enough for me to slap on the

i think its the worst console this gen being in the middle with the ps3 having the best graphics and the wii being the most innovative
Mines been fine since launch......o well i gues it does happen.....SOMETIMES!!Pff, there is a sticky topic in the 360 forum with over 3000 replies, how do you explain that? And dont use the poor "fanboys are just making it up" excuse. Just admit the faults of your preferred console. Just like PS3 fans can admit a high price while Wii fans can admit low hardware specs 360 fans refuse to admit their consoles problems.[QUOTE="PelekotansDream"][QUOTE="desktopdefender"][QUOTE="PelekotansDream"]Also I really find it funny how my Mega Drive (Genesis) was once dropped on the floor but still works to this day while in 2 weeks after buying a 360I was on my second 360. It couldn't even beat old consoles when it comes to reliability.karmageddon2k4
It's very easy to explain it. It's called 10m+ consoles sold then factor in even a 5% fail rate and that's 50,000 potential people that could be complaining.
There is a similar topic for the Wii but it is just general understanding like connection problems and no topic for the PS3 board also. Only the 360 board has such a topic.*looks at todays news*
