So, my Xbox One X will not power on, at all. I have tried like 3 different power outlets, and nothing. WTF Microsoft?! Two XBOX 360s died on me so I have several non-backwards compatible XBOX 360 games collecting dust, and now less than 1.5 years after purchase my Xbox One X dies. Meanwhile my original NES that I have had since I was 5 still works just fine. I hope its under warranty at the retail store (won't know till i check tomorrow). If it isn't then ill have years worth of games and my entire 4k blu ray collection that I cant touch because I won't be picking up another one until they are stupid cheap, and I definitely wont be buying project scarlet or whatever unless it proves that it is worth buying.

Hell, maybe I should just cut my losses and sell my old games and slowly re-buy my favorites on playstation or PC.

never had an xbox die on me, xbox 360 still works, xboxone still works, and they are powered on all the time.

my original xbox one was making screeching noises from the hard drive and was horrible my playstations and nintendo systems have all been perfect

Well, my X299 GAMING PRO CARBON AC motherboard's USB 2.0 stack died (5 volt line still active while data lines has faults) and technicians has declared a hardware fault .

Shop vendor couldn't fix or replace it and I received a 6 month store credit based on it's original purchase price, hence I'm ready for Zen v2 useless upgrade.

I found a cheap refurbished(repaired) ASUS ROG Strix X299-E Gaming motherboard for my existing Intel Core i7-7820X 8C/16T CPU and make use of warranty replaced 32 GB DDR4-3200 memory module set (the old set was killed by RGB feature corrupting the SPD memory areas).

Funny cause my PS1, PS2, PS3 AND PS4 all broke and either needed to be replaced or repaired. 3 out of the 4 I had to come out of pocket because they were all out of warranty except the PS4. My OG Xbox never broke and I had my 360 repaired twice but it didn't cost me a dime.

Isn't anecdotal evidence cool

I see, so you’re still mad. For the record I did in fact own all systems, however after halo 5 And my Kinect died I realized what a steaming turd the xbone was and sold it. Thankfully anything worthwhile playing on the bone I can play on my laptop :) (which is a very minimal selection of worthwhile games)

@regulator331: Don't feel bad. I just recently had to RMA my RTX 2080 Ti because I was getting random crashes to desktop. So, even when you buy high end hardware, it is prone to failure. I am not happy about the failure, but I picked up a used GTX 1080 Ti to use while I am waiting for them to send me a replacement card. Electronics are complicated and shit happens.

Never had a problem out of my old Xbox One, and had only a couple of problems with my old 360. The most problems I ever got from my 360 were the disc tray getting stuck every now and then, and a few minor face plate problems. Nothing big. Why don't you try contacting support instead o ranting on here? Like seriously, that's what the support agents are there for.

The same anecdotal evidence where you claim that your 360 got repair 6 months after launch,under a warranty of 1 year that didn't exist in 2006.

Then claim 7 day delivery when the usual time of arrival was from 14 to 21 days by MS it self,but for many people were more than 1 month.

Your anecdotal evidence was lol worthy and was shot down by cold hard facts on my part.

But since you mention it, I might as well remind you of the 360 leaving the PS3 in the dust in terms of sales for almost all of last gen, and seems to have still come out in 2nd place. Even if by only a few million.

And? The point is, no hardware is guranteed. You can't sit here and berate Xbox's hardware failures, and at the same time, act like Playstation never had large scale hardware issues, Cow. You failed to mention that out of the OG Xbox and PS2, the PS2 had a massively higher failure rate than the Xbox, and Xbox had very few problems, save for the disc drive getting stuck, and even that was rare. And while the 360 did have the RRoD, the PS3 still had hardware issues like the YLoD.

I fail to see how I'm taking an L here. You're just making yourself seem like a massively biased Cow.

Again prove I didn't. All I cared at the time was getting my 360 repaired and MS did and they did it for free and within 7 days. How would you know anything since you, like you do with the PS4 and it's games, lack experience?

No clown, that's an average. You know you could have repairs or refurbs sent out in less than a week while for some it could take a month or more. You do know how averages work right? My 1st repair was replaced in a week while my 2nd took more than a month almost 2 if I recall. See how that works clown. I was on both sides of the spectrum. Damn it sucks to be you

Isn't that what I said, anecdotal evidence which is my own personal experience. It's a lot more than anything you could say.

You're acting like the Xbox brand has always had massive hardware failures, when in fact, only the 360 did, and it still pulled through. And you're ignoring the fact that the PS2 and PS3 had high failure rates (to be fair, the PS3's wasn't as big as the 360, but it was still a noticeable failure rate).

And the Xbox had minimum hardware failures when compared to the PS2. In fact, it's so high, a lot of people like to compare it with the Xbox 360's.

You can't sit here berate Xbox like it always has a high failure rate, when in fact only one generation had one- Then act like Playstation never had one, then proceed to act like their failure rates don't matter cause "Lolz RRoD" you biased Cow.

So tell me... Which one of us has the under developed brain?

Hardware fails dude, they all have failure rates. This gen of Xbox has been great for reliability, especially compared to last-gen.

I've heard of Xbox One's acting up and being slow, but never heard of one dying. And only reason I've heard of PS4s dying is cause of cockroaches.

@regulator331: I’ve had the same problem, I have two Xbox ones at home neither will work. My OG xbone will turn on them turn off after like 10 seconds, my S is doing exactly what you claim your x is doing. I’m on my third elite controller and I’ve bought over half a dozen regular xbone controllers so far. I don’t plan to give MS anymore money so I just switched to pc/PS4. Sony has better exclusives and pc gets all of Xbox exclusives so there’s really no point in buying Xbox products if they’re going to continue to break. I’ve not tried to contact support because I know they gonna make me pay to fix it, I wouldn’t have a problem paying for a fix “IF” it is was something I’d done to break the console but that’s not the case.

@pdogg93: PS2 has so many failures there was a class action law suit against Sony. MS fixed all broken 360s for free, if you were smart enough to send it in. Funny my 360 still works but my Ps3 doesn't and my 360 seen at least twice as much use.

@slimdogmilionar: Sure sounds like your the problem. I'm still using my original controller used it so much I replaced the thumb sticks because they were worn. Never had a problem with a MS console either. Don't try to tell me it's not your problem because you will be wasting your time!

Never had any problems with my Xboxes, except my OG that was murdered by a thunderstorm along with other devices. And MS replaced it, no questions asked. Contact support, but if you don't trust the brand just stop buying their products. Never had issues with PSs either (not counting the absurd noise coming from my Pro) just with Nintendo, both the Wii U and Switch bricked but they were within guarantee.

Lol you're obviously a biased Cow, and can't seem to comprehend my point. Let me explain again. I'm not saying the Xbox 360 didn't have a high failure rate, because it did. I'm just saying Playstation has also had a history of hardware failure. They are not the perfect consoles. And the only Xbox console to actually have even a considerable failure rate is the 360, and look how it STILL managed to leave the PS3 in the dust from 2006-2010. And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the PS2 the title holder of console with the highest failure rate before the 360? And didn't it have a court lawsuit in California over the faulty disc drives? Don't play the failure rate card unless you're open and ready to look at both sides.

And I can't provide specific numbers sadly, as no one knows the exact ones, it's mostly guesses, other than we do know it was pretty high for the PS2. Same with the 360. We know it was high, but no one knows the exact numbers.

Every tech company has hardware failure rates. The POINT is, what is an acceptable failure rate (I.e. vs industry standard).

The Xbox 360’s failure rate was calculated to be over 50%. Do you understand how that’s not comparable to say a 10% failure rate for PS3s? Do you get that, yes or no?
