How so? I am not required to buy this new model. Its like the Slim-line PS2, or even the PSOne. Thats not ownage, that is a re-design.
A redesign is a cosmetic change, this is not a redesign,Microsoft are adding HDMI and a bigger harddisk. [QUOTE="Dualshockin"] Righfully said, like I pointed out in a previous post, the Slimline was a cosmetic change,it wasnt in anyway better than the Ps2 apart from size(Which to some isnt even an issue) Most companies milk their customers in one way or another and at some point or another, the Elite is an example of such. Since when does "redesign" strictly mean "only cosmetic" changes (meaning only the look/size of the product is affected, not features)? Cars are "redesigned" each year, with new features being removed or added, even though its the same model. And I seem to recall the PS2 slimline was not strictly a "cosmetic" update, but correct me if I'm wrong. In addition to being smaller and thinner, the PS2 slimline added a built in Ethernet port, REMOVED the 3.5" HDD expansion bay (which meant you could no longer play FFXI, right?), and made the power supply external like the GC. We all know what MS are doing with the Elite,it is considered to be "shafting" the current owners of the 360. Adding HDMI,a bigger HDD,and raising the price is not a redesign. It is milkage. You don't have to buy the Elite. There you go misusing terms again. "Milkage". While this isn't in the dictionary, I'm sure anyone around here with common sense will tell you that "milkage" doesn't occur when MS is not forcing anyone to buy this new Elite.[QUOTE="latinrage69"]Lemmings sure do love guns.[QUOTE="Dualshockin"][QUOTE="latinrage69"]no but i can shoot the messenger for making up his own reasons that are not in the message itselfDualshockin

I'm sorry about that and have edited my post to reflect that. I knew he was a little kid but he was so funny I could not help myself and got a little carried away.Â

How is it milkage when the Premium will still cost the same and when no one is being forced to buy the Elite package? Self Ownage complete. MILKAGE!
leave it up to M$ to milk customer... who looks bad now for thier over priced console? it aint sony
not even sony would pull a stupid move like this and re-release a better PS3, and charge MORE for it :lol:Â

You know the ps3 cost $600 but you pay one price for everything and move on but the 360
1. $400
2. $100 for wi-fi
Now ms is try to sell the 120 gig for $199 jus t use the 720p videos it knew would fill up the 20 gig you already have = $700 !!
You can add another $200 if you want a hd-dvd player = $900 outch !!
With the ps3 yo can swap out the 60 gig with any serial 2.5 drive for even more space for alot less than what ms is currently selling the 20 gig for $99 !!
Also with the ps3 you get hdmi as standard but with the 360 you must buy the new model so when the new hd-dvd movies enforce the flag blocking digital 720p on analog cables or you will only get 480p. Ms is really milking people but some people see the ps3 as more expensive here ??

Early Adopters = Owned X2
And the Elite - Still no Built In Wifi, still no included rechargeable batteries, no built in HD-DVD Drive....Laughable

i wouldnt exactly say its a redesign, the slimline ps2 is a redesign, the GBA SP is one, and so is the lite...this..this is an upgrade, 6x bigger HDD and an added component(HDMi) what if i want to get a large 1080p set in the future? well then again my question should be, is HDMi better than VGA? if it is then that kinda sucks cuz i cant use HDMI.Â

i dislike wifi, id prefer hardlined net to wifi anyday, why should they risk including a built in HD-DVD drive, at its current standing its got a high risk of failure.
To add all those things in, they'd have to increase the price even more. And I don't think the early adopters of the system are too pleased with the added hardware features and $80 price increase already."And according to our sources close to Microsoft, the normal Pro and Core Xbox360 SKUs will also get a HDMI port in ~June 2007."

But it came out 1st (360) and they could care less about people like me who bought the premium on day one and all the others affected by this. That is why I will stick with sony and the ps3 because I know what I am getting. The ps1 and 2 served me well for years and even when the ps2 came out the ps1 still got AAA games. Also the ps2 was backward compatible so I could still keep my existing ps1 library. Ms killed off the xbox basically forcing us to buy a 360 with crappy backward compatibility or be stuck with a dead system after it launched last and was the most powerful.Â
If this does not open peoples eyes here I don't know what will. Who know what's next a 360 with hd-dvd as standard and wi-fi ??
Seems like ms is trying to turn the 360 into a ps3 after the fact to me but I know I won't be buying anymore hardware from ms. Â

I think there may be more than a few early adopters who feel this way about Microsoft.[QUOTE="ChiChiMonKilla"][QUOTE="FrenziedRaldo24"]"And according to our sources close to Microsoft, the normal Pro and Core Xbox360 SKUs will also get a HDMI port in ~June 2007."

Nobody cares if you do or don't buy anymore MS hardware, you already bought one 360.That's my point ms don't care they think the 360 is a pc and are selling upgrades later at a premium. It's clear that the 20 gig can't handle 720p video V for vendetta is over 6 gigs in size alone (you can see the size of the video in the marketplace).
So basically you have a high def video service that you can't really use effectively and ms says hey but now you can buy a 120 gig for only $199 !!
They also sell a hd-dvd player for $200 but when the new movies turn on the flag limiting the output of movies to 480i over analog cables it forces you to buy the new and improved 360 with hdmi standard for only $480.Â

Wait a second... are you telling me that a 6gig file can't fit onto a 20gig HD? Explain that math to me. The videos that you download don't STAY on the HD. They are deleted after a week or within 24 hours of first hitting play. That HD space comes and goes with each video downloaded or deleted. What I don't understand is why anyone thinks a 120gig is necessary. That's HUGE. I have yet to have any space issues on my 20gig, why the heck would I need a 120gig?.Please Log In to post.
