It may only be February, with industry events such as GDC and PAX East still ahead of us, but Microsoft is already gearing up for this summer's marquee gaming event, E3.

Head of Xbox Phil Spencer says on Twitter that "Planning is going well" for E3 this June.

E3 this year will be held June 16-18, which is a week later than normal. Meanwhile, the summer's other big gaming show, Gamescom, is August 5-9, a week earlier than usual. This comes together to make this summer feel like "one big show," according to Spencer.

Microsoft, of course, is keeping its E3 plans officially under wraps for now. You can expect the company to tout its exclusives such as Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, the new Crackdown, and Scalebound, while it's likely the company also has some surprises up its sleeve, too.

Personally, I'm eager to see the next Gears of War, which is in development for Xbox One right now at Black Tusk Studios. What are you hoping to see or learn at Microsoft's E3 briefing this summer? Let us know in the comments below!

Phil Spencer already gearing up for this summer's big industry event.

I honestly dont' expect much in terms of new exclusives from MS this E3. They already have enough games to show gameplay of.

GeOW4 will be revelead, probably with CG. Then there's Halo 5 campaign , Tomb Raider, Crackdown, Scalebound, Forza Motorsport 6 and Fable Legends footage to be shown. Maybe even the hinted Battletoads.

With all of these exclusives (well, "TB and FL"), i'm counting on only 1 or 2 new game reveals in the form of CGI trailer again.

Atleast, we'll finally see Scalebound in action, hopefully. So **** YEAH!!!!!!! for that

A game with bears, birds, and speech impediment's.

Looking forward to scalebound, anything kamiya makes is worth playing. I'm interested in crackdown but I hope the game isn't useless when the servers go down, if it actually uses cloud.

I think gears will be a good showing.

Also, hopefully they change up the gears forza halo crackdown formula, 343 has had quite some time now to reinvent the shooter.

Hopefully we find out what happened to those 300 000 private servers.

@Telekill: Well there loaded this year, should be a good one.

I hope MS comes out swinging this year. Cause their library sucks right now. If I wanted to play multiplats I would play them on either my ps4 or PC.

I may be wrong but I think people confuse the E3 with the X1 reveal because it seems to me they had a fairly good E3, the reveal on the other hand was atrocious.

MisterX told me they would unlock the 2nd GPU thats hidden in the Xbone. So thats pretty cool.

Yup, If I recall correctly, MS E3 was all about games, games, games.

The big games should be quantum break, tomb raider, Halo, and forza.

Gears might get teased but I doubt itll have much presence. If Crackdown and Scalebound are this year (which I doubt) theyll have a big presence. Probably just gameplay trailers though.

They should also be announcing something from Rare for this fall.

Oh, there is that fable game too.

And your last part hahaha, since it seems much isn't expected or hyped for Fable, I'm hoping it's good and winds up a sleeper hit of 2015, I thought the visuals looked real good at least, we shall see.

Hopefully Microsoft announces they plan to exit the console industry so they can focus on PC

@SecretPolice: It does look really pretty but im not sure about the gameplay. Its mp centric which im not really into anymore. The crossplat play is nice though. If I get it, itll probably be for pc.

Yeah, as long as most of those dont get delayed, MS has a damn strong second half to this year.

Oh I must've forgot. MS dedicated their entire E3 to games that year. But i guess Sony wasting time on the PS3, on the Vita, on TV and Movie deals and a standing O as you put it trumps that, right?

Not really sure. Footage of Halo 5's campaign. Gears 4 could be a good reveal. that new platformer from Rare would be nice to see.

This is Fine as Long as MS also Delivers the goods.

I expect another underwhelming E3 from MS. Same stuff every year. Kick off the show with random music game/celebrity appearance that no one cares about. Boring Kinect games. Fable 5/Forza 8/Gears 5/Halo 8.... Yawn. Then they close the show with Call Of Duty pretending it's exclusive when it's not.

Let me know when microsoft does something different because 90% of the show will be filled with everything I just listed. If we are lucky, they might announce one new decent game.

I want to be surprised and blown away is all. Too many cross - gen games this first console year. As far as Microsoft goes I want a new banjo and new ips as well, also a proper fable game please.

I'm always surprised that supposed "game journalists" get paid to write up articles that have zero content and reveal nothing.

Regarding what I expect? It's pretty cut and dry and sort of obvious to any that were here the last decade of SW:

Tons of multiplats. COD on stage, AC on stage, BF, etc. Probably new Kinect games, but I hope not.

Halo 5 being played by 343, probably a run through on one of the campaign levels since we saw the MP Halo 5 Beta. Cue Halo music and thunderous applause. Rise of Tomb Raider level played and talked up by Crystal. Scalebound finally shown off and announced date (2016?). Quantum Break tiny bit more revealed and then delayed until 2016 (It's Remedy, they make good stuff, but it's not timely).

GeoW4 will finally be shown in some capacity (Short CGI teaser) and no date, but probable HOLIDAY 2016 release date as it will release every other year and 343's Halo will be the following year, just like 360 years. Other reveals: 2015's Forza 6 and maybe Fable Legends, although Lionhead isn't the same after devs left so maybe not.

RARE's sneak peak on their next game, probably Battletoads if Phil's shirt was accurate.

Typically, the emphasis is placed on titles releasing THIS YEAR at E3, so that's not changing. That could mean that some of the 2016 titles (GeoW4, Scalebound, Fable, Quantum, Crackdown, Battletoads, etc) and beyond aren't even at the show and are saved to be revealed later this year instead to place emphasis on the titles releasing this year for sure (Forza 6, Halo 5, Rise of Tomb Raider, multiplats, etc).

Halo 5 beta and the broken MCC release ruined Halo for me. Something new would be nice. There is a thread on Too Human on system wars that got my attention. It would just be nice if they could put out a new dungeon crawler or RPG to get into. Besides that, somehow getting the community made Unreal Tournament on X1 would be great.

At this point the only thing that will force me to buy a Xbox One would be Lost Odyssey 2 and the original Mistwalker team.

Best Final fantasy game there never was.

Phil's been making some nice promises. I'd like to see delivery.

MS has signed up for a Netflix exclusive update. The layout now uses windows with little moving previews for the shows! Also a crackle app. They will also be removing the ability to play a PS4 in a little window using the HDMI throughput.

I'd like to see Rise of the Tomb Raider, I'd also like to see something on the front of Space Engineers going to the Xbox One. A new Gears of War would also be really cool, hey maybe hope of a collection on that end as well (doubtful but you never know **fingers crossed**). I'd also like to see something from Halo 5, no sold on it yet but I imagine I'll get it out of compulsion. I'd also like to see something good from Quantum Break, I loved Remedy's work with Alan Wake and AW: American Nightmare, I'd hate to see this game become a dud and that's kind of what I'm worried about.

Of course there's also likely to be a handful of XB1/PS4/PC multiplatform titles as part of the MS and Sony presentations. I expect EA and MS to have some kind of thing to show EA games, hopefully something on the Star Wars Battlefronts III end, as well as something from Mass Effect 4, as well as a Mass Effect Trilogy remaster. Also, something from the upcoming Mirror's Edge would be nice.

Hopefully there's a SOMA trailer at the Sony event (as I'd imagine) but hopefully with news that it'll be on the XB1 as well.

In non-gaming features, I'm also curious, since both Sony and MS are moving into territories of providing streaming cable alternatives, and with new ventures in that area starting to take root, whether both MS and Sony will provide some face time on that aspect. It's exciting to me (though we've seen tons of criticism of non-gaming features in the past). Lately I've heard about how AT&T is starting to compete head on with Google Fiber offering matching speeds and pricing for 1 gigabit/sec high speed internet for $70/month, if that pricing trend catches on or something in between, the possibility to utilize more streaming cable alternatives is going to get more exciting especially if competition is involved, and I imagine both MS and Sony will want to be on that front with their services. If such faster speeds become normal, I'm wondering how it can change gaming too.
