Xbox Game Studios have released only 3 games since 2011 scoring 90 or above on Metacritic.

The following:

1. Forza Horizon 3
2. Forza Horizon 4
3. Ori And The Will Of The Wisps

• 2 of those are racing games (and Iterative racing games at that, meaning the previous game loses value after the next).
• The third game is a 2d sidescroller.
• All are multiplats that run better or are better experienced on platforms other than Xbox.

These are the ONLY 3 90 rated games on metacritic released by Xbox Game Studios since 2011. Know whats worse? Even in 2011, the last 2 90MC games released by Microsoft were Forza Motorsport 4 and Gears of War 3.

I want you to meditate on this.......Sony has released not one but TWO The Last Of Us games in this timeframe. And Bloodborne. And God of War. And Uncharted 4. Plus Persona 5 (not Sony, but still exclusive)

Can’t say that I particularly care about that to be honest. I had a lot of fun with many more games then those and that’s all that matters.

I don't care about scores, but MS have suffered with a lackluster 1st/2nd party. Spencer has undoubtedly worked toward buying/attaining, and bringing something more to gamers, but it looks shit due to them stumbling prior.

Its not random that we don't hear any sales numbers from MS for years now. Looking at their upcoming console, it looks like nothing is changing.

My enjoyment of games does not require validation from ratings sites. Many games that are highly rated have average actual gameplay IMO and are overrated because of visuals, story, etc. which is not why I play games.

Having said that most of MS offerings have been average to good and not great in my view.

Good thing that in game such as TLOU2, a game with a 94 meta score, gameplay is the best thing in it.

I don't know as I haven't played it yet. I enjoyed the first one because it had pretty good gameplay and I did also like the characters and the visuals. I thought that was a solid 8.

Eventually I will play the second one although I am cautious about my expectations due to the one video review I watched that focused on gameplay and came away with the feeling it is basically the same, which is to say solid but not really evolved. In any case, it seems likely that the MC score is overrated relative to what is important to me.

Review scores are corrupt and as warped as the people who write them. They mean absolutely nothing.

Xbox's only 90-level AAAs are racers. That's crazy to me. Honestly, it would be okay if Xbox first-party games were in the 80s consistently this gen, but even that was a struggle. I don't know if it's Don, or Phil, but whoever's been greenlighting games for Xbox this gen should be shamed. Why the hell is a State of Decay 3 coming?

Regardless who developed the games, I enjoyed most of what I played and have been playing on the X1. I don't care who makes it as long as it is offers quality.

True enough. Multiplats play much better on One X than Pro, like MHW, Destiny, Battlefield V, The Division 2, Nier Automata, 76, Rocket League and many more.

Yeah, MS switched to Kinect around 2010 and completely destroyed their first party games. Playground Games and Forza Horizon ARE absolutely amazing though, so at least that's one bright spot.

And before you ask no enjoyment is not tied to a score and i don't look at scores when i want a game,but for the purpose of system wars and in its tradicions yes scores are a valid measurement of quality,when it favor MS and when it doesn't.

Meh... scores. Play what you want to play. Some of my favorite games of all time have scored rather low and some of the highest scores I see often feel way overrated and underutilized.

Scores do not really matter to me, the type of experience one gamer gets out of a game will be different to another. And I heavily disagree with lots of scores given. Alien Isolation 5.9/10 VS Uncharted 4 10/10 on IGN lol. Ridiculous scores but hey as I said they mean nothing really. What bugs me about review scores a bit is the hate and pure outrage by gamers if a game is given a 8 instead of the 9 or 10 that they need for validation to themselves. Weirdos. I still enjoy reading the written bulk of reviews though, always have.

For me, I never care about Metacritic, I play games that I think looks interesting and that's all there is to it.

Now remove scores from Xbox's own publications and probably none of them will reach 90. Not that I care about scores but gaming is the only industry where a seller reviews its own products.

OP is a frustrated Lem who's had enough of Microsoft's excuses. It's time for a friggin games. The Xbox show was a disaster an that was his last straw. Were not waiting any longer for games that was the final nail in the coffin.
